2011-03-02“Alonzo Gee will replace Christian Eyenga as the starting small forward when the Cavaliers play host to the San Antonio Spurs tonight at The Q.” [Mary Schmitt Boyer]
“Scott is hopeful that slowly moving Hickson back to power forward will allow his promising 22-year-old to keep the aggressiveness and rebounding edge that he has acquired since moving to center.” [Jodie Valade]
“All parties involved agree Hickson needs to return to his natural position, he was simply starting at center out of necessity and because of the presence of Jamison. With Jamison now out for the next five to seven weeks, the Cavs can take that time to see if Hickson’s defense and focus on rebounding can translate back to power forward.” [Jason Lloyd]
“Rookie 7-footer Semih Erden, acquired Thursday from Boston, has a bit of a shoulder injury and isn’t in great condition, so Scott said he’s unlikely to play in the next three games.” [Rick Noland]

“Via @SamAmicoFSO – Hickson on life without Jamison: “We’ll have to adjust. I’ll probably take a few more jumpers.” – Noooooooooo!!!!!! #Cavs” [Michael A. Young]
“BScott says Samardo can play in NBA for 10 yrs, but won’t commit to him w/#Cavs next yr b/c of free agency & 4 draft picks. Lots can change” [Jason Lloyd]
“I don’t know if the #Cavs are trying to find a winning combination of players or a losing combination. I’m leaning towards the latter.” [realcavsfans]
21 points so far for Samardo? 9 RBs (7 offensive boards)? (Gee has 18 points to boot… ) Weird to read but encouraging, yes?
Samardo is playing a really good game against the Spurs(going into the 4th quarter).
No sense in wasting him on games we won’t win anyways.

Um, does that sound like Cav-speak for, “Semih Erden is out-of-shape and his shoulder is a little sore, so he’s not playing right now” to anyone else?
[Sigh.]
