Links To The Present: “The Korvaliers Wake Up” Edition
2017-01-14
When their record dropped to 1-1 against the Portland Trailblazers and 0-1 against the Utah Jazz, the Cleveland Cavaliers were staring at a rough road trip and a two game losing streak. After last night’s victory against The Sacramento Kings, though, the now 29-10 team quickly halted that streak from getting any worse.
In their two defeats this week, the Cavs just looked okay… even LeBron for that matter.
From James’ sloppy passing, Kevin and Kyrie either attempting too many threes and not delivering or not attempting enough, Kay Felder’s struggles, as well as the rest of the bench’s slow-footed defense has created a frustrating week. The entire roster has looked plain sloppy.
It was reported that The Cavs haven’t had a practice since Dec. 28 because they’ve been on the road. Even though they’re all professional athletes, going without practice will obviously affect anyone’s performance. The players admit to their rough patch and that they need to get their heads back in the gym.
According to WKYC, LeBron said that he has a great team, but they still “have a long way to go.” I agree and there’s always room for that improvement so that the Cavs don’t have to go through these rough patches when an incident strikes.
HOWEVER, with Kyrie coming back after his slight injury and missing a few games he definitely seemed out of groove, but after leading his team with 26 points against the Kings, I’d say that Irving and the rest of the team were trying to correct what had been ailing them in Utah and Portland.

• The Mike Dunleavy-for-Kyle Korver trade started bearing fruit. After struggling his first two games, Korver scored 18 pts last night and showed he’s a perfect addition to the rotation. His chemistry with the team is already beginning to mesh well and clearly reflect on other players’ performances, play after play.

Oooowee! Korver must have been listening when LeBron advised him to “shoot the ball.”
It’s easy to see why the Cavs and LeBron love some of these old dudes. Did I say old? I meant young, talented and handsome NBA vets who play like they’re still in their 20’s.
“It’s stability,” James says. “When you’ve got professionals who know what their role is and they’ve been doing it for years and years, it just makes your job that much easier. It’s always great to look on the bench and see those guys. They’re always ready to go. It’s good for our team.”
Now lets see if The Cavs can continue this heat *insert fire emoji* in yet another nail-biting face-off with the Warriors this Monday at 8 p.m.
•LeBron’s first shoe comes back. James claims Shumpert had a great performance last night because he was wearing the Nike Air Zooms. Can we agree?

Strength in numbers still makes me giggle. What a dumb slogan.
Here’s a good interview with Griffin. LeBron as Babe Ruth and why Griff calls him “cheat code.”

Great article and thx for posting. I am struck by the fact that Tom Pestak’s assertion (that LeBron didn’t learn how to win in Miami because of Pat Riley or Dwayne Wade’s influence, but because he lost again while surrounded by a super team) has not sunk into the rest of the media. This article keeps talking about the pieces being the reason Lebron is now able to win in Cleveland. Let’s face it…he nearly beat the warriors without kevin love and Kyrie Irving. They literally didn’t have enough bodies to win that series…but Lebron has basically just learned to… Read more »
Yep. Give LeBron a healthy Irving or Love and they are two time champs.
We have to play the Frauds again?!!! Will Green punch someone in the nuts? Maybe. Will he Bray at Durant? Yep. Will he yell at the refs constantly like whiny baby? Definitely. Will Curry pout? Yep. Will he cry? For sure. Will Klay shake his head in shame when Kyrie abuses him? No doubt. Will Kerr make a dumb substitution? Obviously. Will our warriorsfantroll come by and tell us something that he/she thinks is smart and relevant but is not? Of course.
