2011-03-23“After a few days of hinting towards potential linuep changes, Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott has decided to start oft-reserve center Ryan Hollins tonight as the Wine and Gold host the New Jersey Nets.” [Scott Sargent]
“One day soon — if not Wednesday night against New Jersey, then almost certainly Friday against Detroit — Baron Davis is going to make his debut as the Cavaliers starting point guard.” [Mary Schmitt Boyer]
“My game is starting to come back to me. My main focus and goal is to come back next year with no injuries, nothing to worry about but performing at a high level and getting back to where I know I can be.” [Baron Davis via Jason Lloyd]
Over at the Good News Desk: Joe Haden’s a swell guy.
On The Twitters
“LeBron still doesn’t know what contraction means, but he’s pretty sure the NBA should just get rid of the Hawks.” [Zac Jackson]
“Coach Scott has promised “lineup changes” tonight. At this point, isn’t that akin to changing a flat with a flat? Just sayin’. #Cavs” [Eric Knappenberger]
“New Jersey scribe to #Cavs PR during shooraround: ‘So, who plays for you guys now?'” [Scott Sargent]
“Ryan Hollins is Byron Scott’s big lineup change? Somewhere John Lucas is letting out a hearty and raspy laugh. #Cavs” [Michael A. Young]
“The Cavs take their best performer and move him to another position. Take their 2nd best performer as of late and bench him. #Winning” [realcavsfans]
Why do I get the distinct feeling that if Hollins played in the 70s, he’d get his ass kicked every night? He seems like he’d be just about the most annoying player in the league to play against. He’s as annoying as Andy & Joakim Noah, except he has no idea what he’s doing, in any facet of the game. He’s the second worst player I’ve ever seen. Michael Stewart was worse.
Well I’m really talking about the post players to start. People complain because HIckson and Samardo clog the paint to much for eachother. So now Scott is going to go with Hollins instead and that’s a problem too. What combination of big men at this point will actually work? I see none myself..
Here’an idea for a starting line-up
PG-Baron Davis(at 100% healthy if not Ramon)
SG-Manny Harris
SF-Eyenga
PF-Samardo
C-J.J.
I don’t know why we don’t just go back to Manny/Eyenga at 2 & 3 since i doubt AP’s going to be here next due to he’s 35 and I dont see Gee in our long term plans
Someone tell me who Scott is supposed to be starting. There are two tweets there complaining about the starting line-up, yet those same two guys were complaining about the line-up before the change. I just want to know where it is people think Scott can turn to get decent results, because I don’t see it.
