2011-04-08“When Christian Eyenga lines up for a jump shot during practice, he steps toward the basket perfectly. When he lines up for the same shot during games, he routinely steps to the side. It’s a small detail, but critical to the success of his shots.” [Jason Lloyd]
“I’ve known Ryan [Hollins] since he was in high school and college. We’ve been working out together. We’ve been friends. He’s sort of like a little brother to me.” [Baron Davis via Mary Schmitt Boyer]
Kanas’s Morris Twins have announced they will enter the draft.
Sam Amico and Zac Jackson debate who the Cavaliers should take with their very high draft pick.
And the Cavs are honoring Joe Tait tonight as he announces his 3000th NBA game.

“Samardo Samuels out for #Cavs again tonight. Semih Erden is finally ready, though, & will play just 2nd game with team.” [Mary Schmitt Boyer]
“Worth noting: When Baron Davis is on the court, #Cavs are +18.2; when he’s off, they are -10.2 for a (team-leading) differential of 28.4.” [Scott Sargent]
Two most coveted commodities: isolation scorers and pick and roll point guards. Derrick Williams, Harrison Barnes, and Kyrie Irving seem to be the guys with the most upside there, and a chance to be special. Biggest need position: SG (and center). I’d like to get Burks, but if not take one of the foreign big men and stash him overseas for a year.
Rumor (per the “infallible” interwebs (LOL)) – at least two lottery teams are looking to trade out of the lottery. Already over the cap or will be, why pay lottery $ for lesser talents… Imagine the Cabs with THREE? Presumably, at least one would be stashed in Europe – Valanucias or Vesely?
The draft is going to be weirder than usual with a lockout coming. Should be fun! (he says hopefully…. LOL)
Wow I hope that they don’t have to trade Antawn Jamison for a higher pick because of terrible luck. I want to see Baron and Antawn play together, that would be an interesting offense for sure.
Marcus is considered the better of the twins and has a similar build/style to Derrick Williams. However, he has really short arms and wasn’t even a great rebounder in college. Most mock drafts have him going between 15 and 20 with Markieff going anywhere between 19-29. My guess is Irving is a slight favorite for the Cavs. Plan B/C would be getting Barnes or Williams if both declare. After that, there seems to be a drop off to 2nd tier players, so don’t be surprised if the front office tries to trade up if they get stuck with #4 or… Read more »
Which one of the Morris twins is better? I don’t follow college ball very closely, and was wondering if they are the types of players that could help the Cavs. From the sporadic highlights I’ve seen, they look like good defenders with legit NBA bodies. The question is really meant for more on the offensive side, I guess. Also, what’s the talk of plans b, c, etc. if we don’t land the # pick, which is a real possibility. To my understanding, it should be A) Irving, B) Williams, C) Kanter. Once again, let me preface the above statement with… Read more »
