2011-04-12“You’ve got to be careful with the quiet ones, right?” [Charlie Villanueva on his post-ejection outburst]
“Did you see Ryan Hollins’ face? Anyone who has ever had a little brother with whom they were competitive will recognize that face. It is a playful version of Jack Nicholson’s “Here’s Johnny!” from The Shining.” [Craig Lyndall]
“Coach Byron Scott bemoans the fact that Hollins just doesn’t rebound like he wants him to. Erden didn’t get a rebound in 19 minutes on Monday. He had five points and was 1 of 5 from the field, 3 of 4 from the foul line.” [Bob Finnan]
Anthony Parker is well aware that tomorrow night’s game in Washington could be his last game in a Cavaliers uniform, and possibly, with the looming lockout, his last game in the NBA.
“Now that there is zero incentive for losing Wednesday’s season finale, the Cavs owe it to their fans to leave everything on the court to close this season with a victory. It will be the last game of Joe Tait’s career, and the last game of professional basketball we may see in Cleveland for quite some time. It has been a long, cold winter for Cavs fans – how about we end it with a Springtime victory that sends everyone home happy?” [Michael Curry]
On The Twitters
“Feels weird typing this, but the #Cavs are currently going through their last practice of the season.” [Scott Sargent]
“That game today was too funny….” [Samardo Samuels]
“If I was one of the 300 fans still in The Palace right now, I’d certainly be chanting ‘Let Them Fight, Let Them Fight.'” [Zac Jackson]
Whoops,,, I clearly meant FIBA.
I really don’t get how people can be so down on Erden when he is playing injured and out of shape. He clearly is athletic, doesn’t seem to get lost on either end, and just plain looks like he has played as many games as he has this season, ie, not many. Watch some of his Boston games or the FIFA games. The guy isn’t going to be an All-Star, but he can absolutely be a valuable rotation guy.
It mens that there is a potential lockout brewing, much like the NFL.
Curry — “…the last game of professional basketball we may see in Cleveland for quite some time”
Can somebody please explain this?? I have absolutely no idea what this means..
Are we supposed to think next years Cavs are gonna be any worse?
Well, we definitely can’t say Hollins doesn’t have any fight left in him. As bad as he is, is it possible Erden is worse? Don’t we still have rights to the former Kansas 7 footer whos playing over in Russia? Depending on whos in or out of the draft and our picks, it’s possible the Cavs go for Kanter. Worst case scenario we end up with the 5th and 11th picks – with a draft this week, that would really suck.
semih erden is terrible.
Also, WINNING!!! CATCH THE FEVER!!!!
Coach Scott should keep riding Hollins about his rebounding. He gave Hickson a tough time and he finally stepped up. If the same happens with Hollins, he could be valuable as Andy’s backup.
I have to say. Of all the loveable losers in my 11 years in Cleveland, I can’t remember a team that was this bad that I liked more. Thanks for keeping your heads up Cavs, and thanks for beating the Heat at least once.
