Instacap [R4G1]: Warriors 113, Cavs 91 (The Feelout Game) 2017-06-02 Off By Nate Smith Finals Live Thread: Cavs @ Warriors, Game 1 (#Threequel) Finals Recap: Warriors 113, Cavs 91 (or, Nowhere To Go But UP…)
Way to pick up the InstaCap baton from Tom, Nate! You might not have a CavsManCave, but you’ve still got the bobbleheads… Remember how dire things looked last year after Game 1? And, that was before the Cavs got blown out by 33 points in Game 2… Go back and re-read threads and posts from then if anyone is feeling down or hopeless…
Unreal that a warriors fan shows up to brag.
I was just thinking to myself ‘boy, I sure hope warriorsfan shows up here and explains how good the warriors are’.
Right?
I am almost tempted to say I wish the self imposed exile continued. The post below is borderline trolling.
I think we need to realize that we’re playing the greatest basketball team of all time.
So that made Korver miss wide open jumpers? Or TT disappear? Or guys kicking the ball out of bounds when it wasn’t even being swiped at? Cavs can regroup
I know, which means they should beat the Warriors. Wait I think you may have been stating something else.
Nate can I just say in the Aussie vernacular (modified): “I f&*king love you mate!”.
Haha. Thanks, Mate! The feeling is mutual!
The Warriors were better at literally everything in that game. It seemed the Cavs had the biggest problem with the pace of the game — overplaying or watching on D, scrambling on O. These things can be fixed with a couple days of tape and practice. Believe in the feeliut game…
Tis what ’tis. Again, even if the cavs get swept, warriors legacy is crappola. Durant went to the team he should have/could have beaten, the EXACT previous year. Literally, the TEAM he COULD have beaten the previous year. The EXACT team. LBJ didn’t go to the team that he literally (in the literal most damning sense of the word) could/should have beaten the year before (3-1 lead= choke without stupidly superior talent). Winning without context equals superiority……or it doesn’t and never will. Jordan versus Jabar. Chamberlain versus Russell. I am sure warriors fan will be back at an opportune time,… Read more »
Yep
Yeah. Warriors are good. But not unbeatable. It will take a monster effort but it can be done.
Nothing to be ashamed of that’s for sure.
No. The Cavs should be embarrassed by that effort they played dumb.
Durant is the wildcard, I’m afraid. Turns an almost unstoppable offense into a literally unstoppable offense. Love played a good game, probably better than we can expect. I Thought if they were going to steal a game it would be game one. I expect game 2 to be pretty ugly.
Eh I don’t think they’re better than last year’s team. Especially with Klay giving them nothing On offense. KD was good but the cavs warmed Him up by giving him 80 foot rim runs.
Klay probably isn’t going to give them nothing all series (yeah, he’s sucked so far this playoffs), but even if he did give them nothing, Durant is still a huge upgrade.
According to ESPN stats, Cavaliers shot 1-of-12 when Klay Thompson was the primary defender in Game 1
10 of the 12 shots were contested by Thompson
That is better than nothing.
Lebron will be tired this year Nate, as he will be forced to guard Durant more unlike last year when he didn’t have to guard Harrison Barnes saving energy at that end. Infact, Lebron looked tired to me today. Durant with warriors is not same as one with OKC. Warriors have one less thing to worry this year, Delly hurting Curry. JR Smith had just an awful game. I As per Kyrie, compare Kyrie and Curry peripherals, assists, rebounds and steals – Kyrie was relegated to a scorer. a one dimensional player. As I suspected Deron Williams will not play… Read more »
Love played bad. The cavs played bad. Multiple open transition dunks, where they didn’t even try to foul/stop ball. Probably won’t matter. All the Warriors can do is choke pathetically or fulfill the what any team with that talent should for the next 5 years, minimally.
As fans, all we should expect is our respective team to give their best. With the kind of game Cavs played, most NBA teams would have beaten them.
Except, “most NBA teams,” is disingenuous. Presumably, you would be aware of this, if you were an educated bball fan with some knowledge of NBA history. ’83 sixers, 60s Celtics (maybe), the attrition of the 80s Lakers and Celtics, would be quasi equivalents, except none of their players abandoned ship, to the SAME TEAM that they choked against the year before. I would love to laugh at your response to that. Logic and history are not on your side, or….the legacy of the current Warriors, brother.
Bah. Pointless to argue with your wrongness. LeBron 1-7 in game ones of the finals. This is an adjustment game. Nothing else.
