Instacap 2017 NBA Finals Game 4: Cavs 137, Warriors 116 (“Put some RESPECK on my name”) 2017-06-10 Off By Elijah Kim Editor’s Note: LeBron passed Michael Jordan for NBA Finals scoring tonight, he already passed MJ for playoff scoring. In my excitement, I forgot to comment on the self alley-oop… See Below. https://twitter.com/no_cut_card/status/873397506100649984 Finals Live Thread: Game 4, Cavs vs Warriors Finals Recap, Game Four: Cavs 137, Warriors 116 (Or, Episode IV: A New Hope)
Well done Eli. You have seen some great basketball since moving to Ohio and becoming a Cavs fan. Including last year’s historic championship of course. I am 64 and used to have the t shirt (my kids bought it for me) that proclaimed, “Just once before I die.” I literally burned it last year at a family cookout and that was so cathartic.
Great job on the InstaCap Eli!
I was there in loudville. No explanation given over PA regarding Kerr tech. Zaza nut punch (maybe first one innocent, but second definitely retaliatory) was shown a few times on humongotron in slow motion. What did Iman do? Flagrant on Love ridiculous given the similar banging (to head) dished out by Green and others. Officiating is tough, but it has been pretty lousy this postseason (not just from cavs perspective). I’ve gone to one Finals game each of these great seasons (all praise LeBron). First it was the close out game 6 where I stayed long enough to see if… Read more »
You ask what Iman did. Jason Lloyd answers:

Way to bring home a winner, Patrick. I would argue that RJ was pretty effective guarding KD. Virtually every Cav interviewed last night gave RJ props. You could tell RJ was bugging Durant when KD blatantly gave him a shove for no reason in I think the third quarter. Jr said that Jefferson deserved the game ball.
Yes you’re right on Kyrie on Klay. There were times in that game that Kyrie purposely sought out Klay to score on him. That blew me away! I noticed there is some Cavs player body guarding Kyrie more. Rewatch the game and see some of the stuff Lebron, JR, TT and Shump does to other players if they try to cheap shot at Kyrie. I Love It!
We appreciate the way you put this together! Congrats! Agree we need to appreciate Lebron and this team and what they have done. He is absolutely unfairly judged and it’s relentless. It isn’t right on how scared and bias the officiating is towards Warriors. Had these players been on any other team (including Cavs) they would have been ejected. I just don’t get it why they allow all the Stephen A Smith’s, Skip, ect who clearly adore Warriors to get in their heads. For months they had to hear if only Draymond wasn’t suspended they would have won. And that… Read more »
Great cap!! And great instacap!!!
Thanks Tom. Big shoes to fill.
Awesome game. I’ll say it so that it doesn’t get over repeated. I think this win can be explained by 3pt variance.
Sure, when you score 24 three pointers, you should probably win… but the Cavs won by 21, if they made 18 threes, still would have won….
I’m still baffled by the fact that Zaza and Dray were not thrown off the game last night. I’m not sure what to make of it.
NBA favoritism.
Johnb – I’m not following you. Are you implying that “warriorsfan” is a fake poster, possibly a fellow CtB member, just posting for trolling purposes?
I was somewhat intoxicated. I was implying that the “imposter” warriors fan that posted disparaging remarks on this blog after or during last year’s finals (my memory is hazy on the timeline) could be the same as the “actual” warriors fan.
Not the same poster, as explained below…
Got it EG ;)
Johnb – I hear you on the alcohol consumption pre/during/after last night’s game lol.
WOW 137 PTS AND MANY BEERS LATER —-WHAT A NIGHT IN BELIEVELAND——-AM RIGHT WITH NATE —OUR MOTTO GOING FORWARD —-” WIN 1 MORE GAME “——CAVS / CTB BROTHERS THANK YOU FOR LAST NIGHT !!!
It was an amazing game. Cavs came out with intensity and a big chip on their shoulders.
Side conversation – you grow hops?
Going to be doing a time stamp of league influenced calls. 3:34 in the first. Rj literally DID NOT TOUCH Durant on the 3. Challenge it warriors fan. 3:34 to go in the first. Pathetic. Been that way typically during the whole series. We had this discussion the other night and you can’t deny it. Somebody (me) is tracking the calls for and against the cavs in this series. It isn’t looking good for the warriors based off objective shooting fouls versus paint attempts or fouls per shot. Marketing bias is there guyseph or girlseph, off our incomplete sample size.… Read more »
Hey warriors fan! Steve Kerr, no matter what happens (easy as cake), couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. Doofuses all round. Enjoy guy or girl.
Also if warriors fan doesn’t comment on this post-game, well we get what he is about….or if you don’t ctb, you are gullible as hell!
Can anyone based off contact tonight deny NBA league mandated favoritism based off who got ‘techs and who got ejected?!!! Foul shots are minimal. What is relevant is the flagrant and techs versus hard foul calls. How many nut punches went uncallled?
So let’s be real. I know Nate hates cols more than warriors fan, but that is bs. One is passive aggressive as hell (warriors fan). The other just is an actual cavs fan but stubborn and a dum dum. We shall not be misled by honeyed (passive aggressive trite that no one on this blog can see apparently) words and moronic/repeating the obvious analysis (warriors fan). That dude says as dumb crap as cols and has as minimal analysis to contribute. Why are y’all so forgiving of obvious trolling for a guy that commented for all last year, became “imposter”… Read more »
I don’t think you’ve been on this blog to understand the relationship of Nate and Cols for the past +4 years. What you are seeing is a response to all the crazy things said in those years. Most of us get it. The “warriors fan” just got this about a year ago. You are right on the passive aggressive remarks. I do not appreciate his ill timing when Cavs have difficult games. Wait a day or 2 and I’m much more receptive. I don’t think it’s by coincidence and it can be construed as trolling. But in the end, it’s… Read more »
If you’ll notice John b, we do delete any obvious trolling posts that are disrespectful. For the most part, warriorfan has been respectful, even if you believe they are passive aggressively trolling. My advice is to be the bigger person and just ignore posts that tick you off, or respond respectfully in kind. The Nate/Cols dynamic, as TV63 points out, has been evolving for years at this point, but again, we only censor Cols when he is being disrespectful or hyper repetitive. Point being, we’re open to all perspectives here provided they are respectfully presented, and we’re mostly against censorship… Read more »
Sorry, I was somewhat intoxicated when I posted all this last night. I have been coming to this blog since Krolik was the one and only writer, circa 2008/2009. I have been around and am well aware of cols/Nate dynamic. There was a point last year where a person using “warriors fan” handle made very disparaging remarks after game 4 of last year’s finals. That email or up was banned if I remember correctly and the current and “warriors fan” claimed it it was a different person. I was and am unconvinced they aren’t one in the same.
No problem… and I know you’ve been around for awhile. Thanks for your readership and posts. I can tell you definitively (since I not only checked the email and IP addresses, but cross-referenced outside of that) that the two warrior fans are not the same poster.
Good enough for me then. Glad to see you guys are on top of it.
mostest weirdest officiating game ever.
