SBNation Mock Draft has Cavs Selecting Williams, Biyimbo
2011-05-03SBNation has the Cavs taking Derrick Williams and Bismack Biyimbo:
As you can see from the thread below, not much has changed in the NBA mock draft world, as the SB Nation crew still has the Cleveland Cavaliers taking Arizona forward Derrick Williams (2nd) and forward Bismack Biyombo (8th) in their latest 2011 NBA mock draft.
This is soma for any of you watching the NBA Playoffs thinking Man, I hope we can get back here soon. This is also rampant speculation, which I try to shy away from when providing you guys with links. But, I mean, with the Indians playing well there is almost no Cavaliers news of which to speak. Consider this a forum to talk about who you would like to see the Cavs select with their two lottery picks and why. We will obviously know more about who Chris Grant and co. can and will select once the lottery takes place on May 17th. In the meantime, speculate away.
i am hoping they get either Williams or Kanter or both with there picks in the first round. we desperately need a inside dominating force presence(Kanter) that can score and keep everyone from dancing inside on us. we also need a sf with some stones to go inside and can also hit shots from the outside(Williams)
Like it or not Bismack’s stock is predicated on Serge Ibaka, another Congalese who would be one of the top ten picks from the loaded 2008 draft, if it were redone. Ibaka was similarly unheralded, and has a similary pedigree. Bismack is almost as tall, but has a RIDICULOUS 7’7″ wingspan. As for the PF debate, Hickson is ok, but ALWAYS take the best player available when you suck as badly as the Cavs. If Williams is a stud PF, trade Hickson.
I don’t think Bismarck should go that early, he’s talented, but not talented enough for number 8. Hell, if he wasn’t tall, teams would barely be interested. His highlights are from a game against Spanish high schoolers.
Okay, someone has to say this……..if Derrick Williams is a pro level SF, we obviously take him at #2, BUT if he’s a PF then we should seriously consider going a different direction!! I’d love to see Enes Kanter, Brandon Knight or Kyrie Irving in a cavs uniform. Especially Enes Kanter, the best Center prospect in the draft. …just too much of a traffic jam at PF, which is the only position we really DON’T need to draft anyone at (stacked with jj, varejao, twan, etc..). I know it’s unconventional and/or wrong, but I’m seriously hoping we get the #1… Read more »
Would LOVE that draft. I think it’s the best player (Williams), and the guy with the most upside (BisMACK). Creeping into the top 20 for a third pick in order to pick up a 2 guard would be nice too: either Burks, Klay Thomspon, or Jordan Hamilton.
Yeah, I’m starting an MA in English in the fall. I actually didn’t make that reference on purpose. It was the first word that popped into my head for “something that placates unhappy people,” but thank you. And I apparently liked Brave New World enough when I read it some five years ago that its lingo has crept into my lexicon.
Colin are you an English major? I liked the “Brave New World” reference, by the way.
Typo fixed. Thanks, Scott.
Just so you know, the dude’s name (as mentioned in the quote, but not in your headline) is BisMACK instead of Bismark. It sounds weird to me too.
I just want that dude named God’s Gift.
