Live Thread: Cavs vs Kings

The Kings come to town as one of the worst teams in the NBA after spending a combined $50 million this year on George Hill, Zach Randolph, Vince Carter, and Bogdan Bogdanovic. They do sport exciting rookie De’Aaron Fox starting at the one, and he is already possibly the league’s fastest player, so that’s probably their lone source of excitement. The Kings are 3-10 away from home, and the injury report looks good for the Cavs, with TT, and Isaiah Thomas nearing a return and Shump still on the shelf. The Cavs look to notch their 13th straight, which would tie their win streak record. No jinxes from me. Just a hearty, “go Cavs!”
I tell ya guys, no one can analyze a point differential like A.C. #1 rule in basketball: be within double digits going into the 2nd half. Otherwise every little mistake you make is killer.
On Crowder. Guy lost his mom over the summer. That is tough. You never are the same after on of your parents passes. That first 6/12 months is awful. I give him a pass for now & hope IT’s return helps. If his work on D is helping keep Bron fresher in the 4th (and it is), then that is worth something. He gets a lot less shots here. Lower on the food chain. Hard to get flowing offensively when you only get 4-6 shots and a lot are 3s. TT & IT both have gone through 4v4 contact drills… Read more »
He needs to step up the energy and hustle though. I don’t mind him going 0-5 if he’s sucking up rebounds and drawing charges but he’s bringing nothing on either end right now

He’s (Crowder) never going to shoot the three like he did last year, imo. That was a career aberration.
Might be, but usually people shoot long shots better as they get older. I am hoping for that. Note that a lot of mid level players have gotten a lot better as the season has progressed. Let’s hope it happens with Crowder.
One can always hope, but back to his career average of 33-34% this year, which is all I expect from him.
Crowder is playing so/so. Green has been getting more minutes.
Calderone played pretty good, other than being 0/4. He is old, but he knows what he is doing out there.
I think Lue gives JC and JC a lot of run in the first half so that his best guys (the six man rotation for closing time: LeBron, Wade, Love, Korver, JR, and Green. This works pretty well.) are somewhat rested for the final push.

MVP is between Harden and James so far, but the Golden Turd can’t compare to LeBron’s efficiency
