Live Thread: Cavs vs. Wizards
2017-12-17The last time the Cavaliers faced off against the Washington Wizards, LeBron went off in an explosion for 57 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists leading Cleveland to one of its early season marquee wins. In addition to LeBron’s supernova, Jeff Green had his coming out party, putting up 25 points of his own. A lot was different in that first match-up. The Cavs were struggling at 4-5 and the Wizards were 4-4. Derrick Rose was starting and played 29 minutes.
Now, both teams have risen back to the top of the Easter Conference, Cavs holding a 22-8 record, Washington a 16-13 records. The Cavs are resting DWade tonight, IT still hasn’t made his return, but TT should be getting 14-15 minutes, per Ty Lue. The Cavs and especially James have been playing very well of late so I expect tonight to go well. Cleveland tends to get up for games against “rivals” so hopefully that remains the case tonight. Go Cavs!
Great win, especially on the second night of a back to back and on the road. Thank god Scottie Brooks only got one technical, he’s the worst coach in the NBA, definitely needed him out there with his horrific defensive schemes.
This is absolutely the best Cavs team ever. Who would have thought that a couple months ago? Notice how Lue’s IQ has doubled since the first couple weeks?
Lue’s IQ has doubled? What does that mean?
That means he looks a lot smarter all of the sudden.
Gotcha
This team is not better than 2016.
When everyone is healthy it likely will be. I mean, we are sitting on 13-14 guys who can play legit minutes.
Everyone getting hurt helped Lue from a rotational standpoint. Though I believe he knew the Rose/Wade thing would not work. Just better for the team if it fails first. Full marks for that and since.
Still, this is a guy who refused to play JR & Korver together last year. That is our best SG/SF combo we have (assume James at PG or PF).
What? Have you been asleep?
another great win – my favorite cavs team to date. stay injured, shump
This is so great. https://twitter.com/CLEsportsline/status/942574029189402624
haha!Pretty much the right response.
A first, being posterized sitting on the bench!
we could be facing a “red hot ” bulls team ——expect grizz/hornets /lakers / magic/ clippers to finish with more wins than the nets —maybe even the bulls ——-do the cavs “tank ” against the bulls to GIVE THEM A “W “—-sarcasm/ joking
37 pt 2nd quarter for Wash. 39 in the 2nd HALF.
No change in the Nets’ neighborhood. Wins:
6 = Hawks
8 = Mavs, Bulls
9 = Grizz, Kings
10 = Suns, Hornets, Lakers
11 = Magic, Nets, Clippers
Chance for some wins tomorrow:
NY at Charlotte (Zinger in doubt)
Miami at Atlanta
Philly at Chicago (6 in a row?)
Phoenix at Dallas (someone wins)
Clippers at Spurs
Warriors at Lakers
6 teams on 11 wins is possible after tomorrow.
Would it be more reflective to track the loss column? Wins of course are contingent on games played,
Example Cavs up 1.5 games on the Raptors but tied in the loss column with 8
So are losses. For teams at the top, look at the loss column. For teams at the bottom, look at wins. The rarer outcome in both cases. Wins are much harder to get for these teams. They can go weeks without one.
Bron with some anti-trump words after the game. Though probably a little too exhausted after the game to express himself as eloquently as he’d like. I think most people got his meaning.
Yep, the “not our leader” reference
The shoes said what he needed to say. I love LeBron’s courage in speaking out. 100-1 says Trump won’t say a peep about it.
Hi ‘s too busy trying to discredit the investigation against him
Cavs win!
I like how Green sorta adopted the Wade role for a couple minutes. Handle/post/playmake. Even hit a couple 3s.
Gritty not pretty. I love it either way. Pacers win by 12 in Brooklyn.
Great win by a tired team. Wiz are short on talent.
And execution.
impressive / hard fought “w” for the cavs coming off a back/ back–facing a hungry wiz team
Wizards have no bench or depth
Good win. Cavs have seemed to own the Bullets since Lebron returned.
And before he left.
Love & Green gameballs. Bron third TD in a row. TT getting back into it.
Game. Set. Match!!!
Gritty win. Well done Cavs.
Green bailed us out. Bron at far from his best. Still has 19-12-15.
More. Like K-Love’s 16 second half points.
Though green also played well.
Crap offense but team is hustling on D
Play thru Love.
This was a good lineup to close
Not sure why Cavs didn’t hold the ball there?!?!
Wall with good D on Bron!
Not smart plan
I hate when Bron does this. Why we need a PG.
Korner nice rebound
Beal shrinking like it’s the playoffs!
