The Cavs play a second straight at the Staples center tonight, and the injury bug has bit them hard. Out tonight are Kevin Love (hand), Tristan Thompson (ankle), Cedi Osman (hip), and Rodney Hood (lower back). Jeff Green (back) and Kyle Korver (foot) are both battling injuries but are expecting to play tonight.
#Cavs going to have to try to beat the Lakers with a bench of Clarkson, a banged up Korver & a handful of G-Leaguers, all while starting Jeff Green. Could be a long night.

Jordan Clarkson looks to get more run at the two, and Calderon and John Holland will probably get some run too. Let’s hope Jeff Green spends his entire night at the four, and that he either starts shooting threes or making more than he misses.
I don’t expect the Cavs to lose this one. LeBron James doesn’t forget much, and he wont forget Isaiah Thomas’ sullenness in Cleveland. Meanwhile Larry Nance and Jordan Clarkson will be looking to show Magic Johnson and Luke Walton what they’re missing. James might actually play defense and box out tonight after posting a -16 Friday. Stopping the Lakers will take a balanced effort as they routinely have 6+ players in double figures, with Kuzma, Randle, Lopez, Ball, Thomas, and Caldwell-Pope all capable of getting it going in the scoring column.
Larry Nance remains key, but he and Ante Zizic will have to balance protecting the rim with protecting from backside lob as DeAndre Jordan and Montrezl Harrell ate the Cavs for dinner on a diet of alley oops, Friday. Despite battling a solidly playing Lakers team (4-2 in the last six) and the undefeated L.A. nightlife, I’m betting James tries to put the Lakers away early, and Jordan Clarkson goes off. 122-104, Cavs.
Integrating so many new faces mid season for a team is tough for even good coaches. In fact, most coaches of contending teams won’t even go for that. That said, Lue is perhaps the last coach one should have expected to see the transition go well. Lue might be the coach who had very little to do with winning the ring.

Figured this game would suck, so I skipped it and went to bed. Sounds like Green and JR were terrible again (show me a player in the NBA who has played as many minutes this season who has sucked as bad as JR), and IT, predictably, had a good game. (For him) Better go and and pay the man, Lake-show.

I can’t stand that Ty Lue shows zero emotion. When this team is getting run out of the gym he just stands there looking dumb. If LeBron comes back I sure hope Fizdale is the coach next year. I get less and less optimistic he’ll be back every time they play as shitty as they are tonight.

that’s kinda their MO. the only times they win games right now are when other teams go cold. they don’t plan, they don’t prepare, they don’t talk about anything, they don’t make adjustments if someone is killing them except to trap them, which destroys us.
but they do all those things right come playoff time. every year since lebron got back. it just sucks to sit through this garbage.
this would be a very funny comeback win but its not going to happen. we cannot keep them from scoring.

It’s just unbelievable, to me the Cavs have enough talent to play a lot better but Lue just doesn’t know how to get the best out of his players. This season he has gotten totally exposed especially at the defensive end.
Love must duplicate his 20/10 early season or the Cabs appear to be doomed
I know it’s not recommended to fire your coach at the mid point of the season but when the management made some player changes and the Cavs is still at the bottom defensively I would fire him and give the team to one of the assistant coaches.

Well another L coming up. Even if the Cavs are shorthanded in terms of team personnel the effort should be better and as Chauncey is saying the Cavs just don’t communicate on defense and again are on pace to allow 130 +.
After being tied at 72, Lakers go on a 26-10 run. And IT still leads in +/-. Lue cannot even exploit him
This team seems incredibly poorly coached. They seem to get worse coached every game.
