I’m really happy for MB, he deserved another opportuntiy and he got one. I’m still not a fan of how his offensive shcemes used in Cleveland, I still think he could have come up with something more creative. Not calling him a bad coach – I’ve never thought that. Just think of him as a defensive coach that needs an assistant coach that is/can be the offensive scheme mastermind. It will be hard shoes to fill in LA and I wish him the best, I just hope he gets a fair chance to prove himself.
Should be interesting. The Lakers need some younger guards and perimeter defenders. Switching out of the triangle is not going to fix their guard problems, especially on offense, but Mike Brown might help that defense cover up some problems. I have come around on MB since I’ve seen how uncoachable LBJ probably was, and how poorly assembled the team was at times. Haha, that’s awesome
I can’t wait until Kobe inevitably goes into hero mode, costs them a few games, and subsequently starts pouting. It’ll be interesting to see how MB handles this.
The Lakers have been at their best, for years, when Kobe shoots less; it’s up to Mike Brown now to reign him in. I, for one, do not envy him or like his chances in that regard.
Yeah I read that at work today – nice one, John. Spot on analysis. MB has been unfairly critiqued his entire career. Getting Sasha Pavlovic to become one of the better defensive SF in the league (07) was a ridiculous accomplishment.
I fear Kobe and Laker Nation (land of hyperbolic emotion) will run Brown out of town if they don’t win a championship. But he’s making a cool 18 mil so I’m sure he’s OK with that.
Love the MB, Glad he got a job. He deserves it. As much as I hate the Lakers, maybe he can galvanize that group into another West championship and take down Lebron in the finals next year.
