Well… LeBron James is gone. Again.
To process this new reality… Nate, Tom, Eli and EG commiserated in the podcast booth. We discuss why we think it happened, who’s to blame, whether it was a basketball or lifestyle move, if the Lakers are now contenders, what happens now with the future of the Cavs, and how this move affects LeBron’s ultimate legacy. So, all in all a pretty cheery listen. In all seriousness though, here’s hoping listening to us vent a little might help you all with your own venting process… and be a reminder to cherish the good times.
As always, you can catch us above, on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts or Google Play.
And, as always GO CAVS!
These Lakers signings are insane… If the Lakers are making these types of moves, they must have Lebron’s blessing and told him their plan, and Lebron must be angling to pick up a twilight championship or 2 as the 3rd or 4th best player on a championship team instead of the sun and moon after the Warriors (MAYBE) lose some guys to a financial crunch. On the one hand, it would have been nice if he put that kind of trust in the Cavs, but I can understand if he didn’t think that the Cavs could attract the right kind… Read more »
But a large part of why they had a harder time attracting talent was that LeBron wouldn’t commit in the first place. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy for LeBron to justify leaving because the Cavs couldn’t get the right players. Fact is, Gilbert spent more money than any other owner and I see no reason that would change.
No, that’s just a false narrative. The reason why they couldn’t attract talent is because they were capped out. They had Kyrie, they re-signed Kevin Love, and then they had no cap space.
Name one time they had cap space for a marquee free agent.
Well, they apparently could have had PG, but Lebron refused to commit past his last season. That tells me he was gone no matter what the Cavs could have done.
That was Dan Gilbert trying to pull a power play on Lebron and Lebron wasn’t having any of it. If Dan Gilbert really cared about winning a championship and thought that was the best move to win one, then he would have pulled the trigger knowing that Lebron and PG13 aren’t walking away from a championship over the Warriors. Not to mention 2 of the best NBA reporters in the game say Lebron “aggressively recruited George behind the scenes last summer, selling him on a future together in Cleveland,” so there goes your theory. Why are so many of you… Read more »

They need IT to balance out the height of their roster…
Game’s over…. Jackson bounces back after a bad game last night…. looked great tonight. Giles with a tough game…. he needs to be stronger with the ball, and more patient, but good activity tonight. Bagley with a tough shooting night…. missed some easy shots and shot a couple of bad shots. But he never quit, his activity level was sky high, especially on defense. Needs to develop his right hand finishes, NBA knows he loves going left. Frank Mason with some flashes of solid play, but too inconsistent and needs to run the offense a lot better. Good fight in… Read more »
Bad defense there by Jackson… got caught in the air.
Bagley with the rejection!!! Bad call by the refs.
NICE PNR!!! MASON TO BAGLEY…. GREAT FINISH BY BAGLEY!
Bagley terrible decision…. needs to drive the ball in a 1v1 situation. Takes the bad jumper instead.
Bagley running the break! Jackson with the miss, Giles with the offensive rebound!
Love the fight Bagley’s showing…. shooting horribly…. but great post defense, gets the block, one man fast break, then finishes with the and 1. Mason with a fantastic finish on the ensuing possession!
Nice block by Bagley, nice pass by Mason, nice finish by Jackson!
Wow…. Jordan Bell with the one handed put back… huge swing in the game. lead back up to 16.
Mason gets the and 1…. can’t believe the refs actually get it right! Bagley struggling with his shot tonight…. Giles out of rhythm as well so far here.
Mason and Jackson look like the best players his game. GS defense locked in. I gotta sleep.
Yup agreed… goodnight I’m here till the bloody end lol!
Jackson for 3!!!
Bagley gets the nice dumpoff, doesn’t finish strong.
Evans with a nice offensive rebound…. pure desire there.
I like Bagley’s aggression, but way too predictable on the block… needs a right hand go to move.
Nice defensive play Giles… active hands!
JACKSON ON FIRE!
Bagley out of control on the block…. and terrible inbounds pass!
Nice defense by Giles! Way to move your feet!
Nice aggressive move by Jackson…. draws the foul.
AND AGAIN!!! Mason draws the clear path???
Nice steal and finish by Mason!
Sent you another email.
Harry giles with a lot of activity. Can’t shoot so far though.
Yup…. made those last night. But impressed with how he’s look so far considering the layoff. But he’s gotta stay healthy… soon as he gets it going, he busts a knee. Same thing happened at Duke.
Mason with a nice off the dribble 3!
Slow feet by Giles on that foul…. gotta read the angle and slide the feet.
Giles nice floater in the lane off the PnR! Mason with the assist.
Without fox, this is pretty brutal for the Kings.
For real…. ugly, ugly start.
Wow… JP Tokoto with a three….. uber athletic wing from UNC.
D’Aaron Fox is sorely missed by Sacramento tonight.
Magette been a g league standout for a while. 8 quick ones so far for him. Looks sharp.
Nice pick up…. was wondering who that guy was.
Assist master last few years I think.
To be clear, Nice observation Nate, screw GSW lol
Eh. He shot 37% in g league. He’ll never make the nba.
Gotcha…. figured you just meant this game anyway lol!
Evans jumper is ugly….
Nice ball movement by GSW…. screw them. JACKSON WITH A SWEET TURNAROUND JUMPER!
Bagley gets rejected… NBA players know he can’t finish with his right hand…. major area of work if he wants to be elite.
Tribe win their third straight.
Bagley with great 1v1 post defense!
Harry Giles with active hands!!! Bagley misses first couple of jumpers.
Harry Giles nice start! Nice little putback!
Jackson comes out firing! Jacob Evans airballs the first shot I see from him lol…. NICE STEAL HARRY GILES!
Tribe trying to give one away in KC while I wait for sacramento.
JJJ did better work inside tonight, and looked more active on defense. Disappeared in the 2nd half though…. needs to be more aggressive on both sides, too much finesse in his game right now. If he’s more aggressive, he can be a star. Simmons has had two good games, look out for him. Carter a few bad mistakes, but great defense and a few good offensive plays. Selden was a bit of a chucker tonight, but also made plays… interesting to see if builds on tonight. Niang improved since last year…. look out for him… he can shoot, pass, defend,… Read more »

Checking now!
WOW…. that’s an indictment. Not sure if I totally buy it; last I recall, literally no perimeter was willing to feed KAT inside even though he dominated Houston.
Apparently the Wolves locker room is a mess. I could see Kyrie, and Jimmy joining Portzingas in NYC.
That’d be pretty cool… I could totally buy their locker room strife, surprised no one’s taking shots at Teague… IMO he was the problem.
and Durant, don’t forget Durant. He is going there too.
That would be fun to watch
Hmmmm Where have we seen this before? Last July… disgruntled superstar dissing on another star player to get off the team and go elsewhere?? Where or where did Jimmy get that idea? Why yes it’s from his best bud, Kyrie
Bad inbounds pass by JJJ, doesn’t matter….. great game!
Selden with the dagger! Nice drive.
CARTER LOSES THE BALL! NIANG GETS AND FINISHES!
Jazz no weakside help…. costly bucket given up.
Carter’s pressure looks like forced a TO.
SIMMONS WITH A CLUTCH MIDRANGE J!
NIANG WITH THE DRIVE AND HOOK SHOT FINISH!!! 1 POINT GAME!
Selden gets a lucky call, that was a charge.
Bradley with great perimeter defense…. JJJ with a missed three, kicked his legs out AGAIN…. JAZZ TAKE THE LEAD! WOW SELDEN WITH THE MIDRANGE!
CARTER WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?! Terrible pass!!! No reason for that.
NIANG IN THE HIGH POST!!! GREAT PASS!!! BRADLEY CURL CUT AND FINISH WITH THE AND 1!!! Terrible foul by Carter.
Carter with the miss…. Niang out of control, JJJ with good defense…. intensity right now!
If Memphis were actually gameplanning, they need to call a number for JJJ/Carter PnR or JJJ post-up.
Bradley with the catch in traffic and FINISH!!! 4 POINT GAME!!!
Niang with the rebound, break, and assist!!!
