Live Thread: Cavs @ Pistons
2018-11-19Here we go again. After four days off for Cleveland, and a whoppung fuve days off for Detroit, two rested squads square off at Little Ceaser’s Arena.
For the Cavs, Larry is still starting at the four and looks to go against Blake Griffin, while TT will take on Drummond. On the injury front, the Cavs are missing Hill, Dekker, and Love while Detroit is missing only Luke Kennard. Lets see if the Cavs cleaned anything up in their time off, and if they can avoid looking ahead to the King’s return to Cleveland. Go Cavs!
Recap up.

at least it is a good year to be the saddest team in the league.. tryin for zion gives meaning to the slog
I will take anyone of those Duke three. Zion is likely the prize of prizes. But Barrett or Reddish is a pretty great runner up or third place prize in my opinion.
from Amico.. “Everyone knew when Kyrie got traded it was the beginning of the end for everything,” James told Vardon. “It’s not a secret.”.. looks like LBJ and i are on the same page..
We need Lebron.
Brilliant.
way beyond LBJ.. need lourdes
Anyone have Blazers, Grizz, Clips as 123 out west? I know it is only 15-18 games or so, but yikes.
That is surprising. I do think the west is a bit weaker at the top. Unless Houston can play d like it did last year, or LA’s young guys make the leap, I don’t see anyone that can push an unsuspecting or unfocused GS team like last year. Unless GS self destructs with this Durant Green thing. Doubt it but I suppose anything is possible.
Here is a dumb thing with the nance tt lineups. Teams are dropping back two guys on p and rs, completely ignoring the other big near the elbow and staying with the other two shooters. You don’t have anywhere to pass to and the lane is clogged for the guard because the defender of the big not involved in the p and r in tt/nance lineups is completely selling out. Guards can’t turn the corner because the paint is packed and the roll or tt or nance is cut short. Despite that sexton had two drop passes for assists and… Read more »
Go back and watch sexton p and rs and watch how far Blake or Drummond cheat off tt or nance, when they are not the screener, into the paint. The lane and roll are clogged and that lineup pairing doesn’t have a plunger to unclog it.
Watched the Duke game replay. Cam Reddish is really damn good too. I think we’re A-ok if we get any one of those three. And I haven’t even watched anyone else. So if there is anyone else with the potential of the Duke kids, it will be a deeper class as far as top end talent than expected.
Early EC AS thoughts. Do not know if Butler is a G or a F.
Starters: Kemba, Dipo, Kawhi, Freak, Embiid.
Bench: Lowry, Ky, Butler, Griffin, Drummond.
Last 3: Simmons, Vucevic + 1.
Bucks need two. Middleton should be the last spot.
Good point. I like Middleton a lot. Well deserved.
This is what happens to championship teams. They crash and burn for a year. At least we will have Zion.
At least Boston lost again.
Down to 7th. Too bad Lavert & Dragic are hurt (not to mention Zinger) & the Wiz are imploding. No real 9th PO challenger.
Boston’s tanking!
I don’t know what happened to Cedi since Lue left but he looks awful now.
He was injured. He was great the first two games when teams were still rusty from shortened preseason. Teams have caught up. Lue has nothing to do with it. He likely wouldn’t even be playing under Lue now. Lue basically seemed to have to be forced to play him in the first place. Certainly had no desire to work with him or develop him last year. Open your eyes.
Hurt for a bit. Only 2nd game back.
Firing Ty Lue looks dumber and dumber.
We would still be win less.
O-6 with Love for 4 and Hill healthy vs 2-7 with Love for zip, and Hill/Korver out for a chunk. No contest.
People defending Lue look dumber and dumber.
Learning how to run an offense is teachable. Defensive stance is teachable. Running a p and r is teachable. What do you guys expect? Sexton to learn how to be Steve Nash in a week? Come on. Game management takes time. Damn your boy Fox sucked last year to the tune of -4.6 BPM, not much different than Sexton through 15 or so games. 47.8 TS%. 4 assists to 2.4 turnovers (not Sexton but awful). Now look at him this year. Sexton is way way way way way farther along from.a scoring standpoint. He still is raw at running an… Read more »

He is maybe the worst point guard I have seen in a long time playing regular minutes.

Zizic getting a nice rhythm
Harrison makes his like 4th shot in like 18 attempts for the Cavs.

Was Sexton in for that?
Nope.
I think Nwaba needs to start over Cedi. Or kover. Need a knockdown shooter or lockdown perimeter defender in the starters. He just seems farther along as far as impact right now.
Readying myself for the backlash.
Start over Hood. Hood does nothing well.
Agreed… I think over Cedi. He’s struggling badly right now. Let him match up against backups, and it adds a playmaker for that 2nd unit.
Yep. I think if he can get some momentum going against second units it could boost his confidence.
Clarkson somehow cuts this to 14.
Sexton has hit two threes for four straight games. Over 50% on the year. Maybe he should shoot more of them. Also 18 puts on 6/10 with 4 assists to 0 turnovers.
Naturally, he’s not playing late.
I mean he can’t run an offense. At least he can score.
Harrison has to take that three point pullup out of us game. He is awful.
Gets caught on screen, leads to penetration and kickout for open three and back to 17 pt league
