Podcap: Heat 117, Cavs 92 (or, Don’t Take Off Your Blindfolds!)
2019-01-02 Off By EvilGeniusGood call Sandy. This is probably one Cavs game we could have (and should have) avoided seeing… mainly because it was just a rerun of last Friday night’s game in Miami. Things went sort of okay for the first quarter plus… at least until Eric Spolstra once again decided to blind the guys in wine & gold light blue and white (wait, are we sure these were ever colors this team wore?) with a steady diet of zone defense. The Cavs slipped their blindfolds on, but instead of surviving… they just ran straight off a cliff (of scoring that is).
Rather than watch the tape on this one… Nate and EG stumbled blindly into the bird box… er, podcast booth to hash out this latest loss (a season high seventh in a row). We debated the eye test on everything from Cavs big men to Collin Sexton, Luka Doncic and the rest of this rookie class. We also chose to believe little of what we heard and only half of what we’ve seen on topics like Kevin Love trade rumors and LeBron’s birthday/Christmas present to himself of G.O.A.T. status.
So, blindfolds on… and enjoy an hour or two of the first C:tB pod of 2019… with no birds, and only a smidgen of fake news ;)

for the record, I wouldn’t do that deal if I’m the Nuggets. They have a good thing going at the moment, and Love doesn’t really change their timeline. They would have better luck shipping Millsap for some younger talent if at all. Or save their own money for the coming extensions their guys will soon be up for. Love made sense to them before Millsap. Now, I honestly thing Plumlee, Millsap and Hermangomez are better for them than Love would be.
Unbreakable is in my top 10 all time. Couldn’t be more excited about the sequel, thanks for the heads up. Also checked out Marv Mrs Maisel & Barry, top shelf and thanks again for the tip. In these dark b-ball days, it helps to have replacement quality content for our eyes.
Fond out the other day that Mrs. Maisel was inspired by Joan Rivers, which makes sense.
Nance needs more than 22 minutes. Hood needs more than 7 shots.
It would be interesting to document all the things you were wrong about. Nice strawman, though.
What strawman?
Agree with Nomad. 22 min for LNJ and 7 shots for Hood vs a zone. Far too few.
Sexton has no idea how to attack a zone.
DREW HAS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET MINUTES FOR LNJ EVEN WHEN T.T. IS HEALTHY—22 MIN’S LAST NIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR OUR BEST PLAYER —–HOW MANY SHOTS DID HOOD TAKE–7 ?—-AGAINST A ZONE HE SHOULD BE ” LIGHTING ‘ THEM UP FROM THE WING AREAS —HAVE CONFIDENCE !!!!!
WATCHED THE MOVIE TWICE-( BIRD BOX )—WHAT ARE YOUR REVIEWS EVIL ONE——ANY PRO TEAM SHOULD WELCOME A ZONE DEFENSE / SHOULD BE ABLE TO “CARVE ‘ IT UP ——-WHY IN THE HELL IS LONGINBURGERBASKETS STILL ROAMING THE CAVS SIDELINES —WHO DOES HE HAVE PICTURES ON —–MAKE THE TRADES -( IF THEY HAVE GOOD / GREAT VALUE )—-T.T. / LOVE / HOOD / BURKS —-THIS TEAM IS AT LEAST 3-4 YRS AWAY FROM BEING COMPETITVE ON A NIGHTLY BASIS ———A LITTLE EFFORT AND SOME BETTER I.Q. PLAY WOULD MAKE IT MORE TOLERABLE TO SUPPORT / WATCH
I enjoyed it, but then again I typically enjoy Sandy B flicks… it’s not entirely the most original idea, but pretty well executed, especially for a Netflix rush job…
LONGINBURGERBASKETS LOL. Thanks for the chuckle Nomad!
