These are most of the lyrics from the main song in the new Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. I’ll be honest, the movie wasn’t awesome. But, it did get me thinking about the Cavs this season. Sure, everything’s not awesome like it used to be, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be again. First though, the Cavs have to endure another tank battle with the New York Knicks for the opportunity to draft Zion Williamson this summer… and get on the road to being awesome again.
Kevin Love should be there, even if Cedi Osman and Tristan Thompson are still out. Maybe even the nomadic Sauce Castillo will make things a little more awesome with an appearance.
Prediction: The Knicks, who are trying to be a little less awesome than the Cavs these days in the race for the number one draft position, tank just a little harder as Cleveland wins 98-88.

Cavs played terribly, but they still won… which I think is an encouraging sign of growth.
Cavs won this game by shooting and making nearly double the amount of threes that the Knicks took/made, and by out-rebounding the Knicks by 10. It would seem to suggest that they took the right shots and gave great effort. That’s all you can ask of a young, tanking team.

Larry has taken a leap this year. He is a foundational piece. When he starts being a tad more aggressive around the basket, lookout.
If he continues to make threes and they run an actual offense thru him and love they could be competitive with other passers on the floor like Cedi, Delly, etc.
How is it possible an NBA team can play a 2-3 zone for about 40 possessions in a row and not obliterate it. Yowser. That is basic stuff.
Got a lot of open looks and missed.
They also turned it over a ton, took contested shots and forced shots in the teeth of the d that got blocked or were difficult. They got it middle a number of times but that guy needs to shoot or people need to cut hard baseline and/or shift on the perimeter to give him passing lanes.

LBJ would still be in Cleveland with probably another all star besides Kevin. There’d be crazy daily drama, we’d be in fifth or sixth place, we’d struggle in the first round, then sweep the Raptors and Celtics and lose to GS in five games.
Fizdale would have never taken the job, and that’s aside from the fact that wholesale replacements of staff are impossible mid season. Or is the idea that a team hires a new head guy, from totally outside the current staff, and he keeps the old guy’s assistants? Would never happen.
