Live Thread: Cavs vs. Pistons 2019-03-02 Off By Nate Smith No Klove. No Zizic (concussion). No TT. No Henson. Pistons a full strength as far as I know. Go Cavs. From Distance: Heir to the Throne? Recap: Pistons 129, Cavs 93 (Or, An Ugly Bit of Basketball)
Missing the playoffs will be the best thing ever for Lebron. He can get an early start in recruiting Melo and Jason Kidd, which, IMO, are all they’re missing…If Magic can somehow pry away Frank Ntilikina, then they can let Rondo go…
New prediction/conspiracy, Lakers will win the lottery when they miss the playoffs. League wants LA/Lebron to be relevant. They’ll trade Zion for AD and Kyrie or Kemba or someone else signs.
lol…no. this is the biggest fallacy in conspiracy sports. The league doesn’t need to care about LA. They have a loyal fan base that will pay attention no matter what, and a TV deal that isn’t going anywhere. There is a reason Chris Paul never became a Laker…and it proves the opposition to your point. The NBA needs to make sure they matter to smaller markets. They don’t have to focus on larger markets…as has been proven by the knicks being terrible for 20 years and still selling season tickets. Does AD end up in LA this summer even if… Read more »
By market size Philly and Dallas are huge. Top five in the country as far as metro market size of sports cities. Tv ratings matter. I can’t imagine the nba is satisfied the local Knicks and Lakers ratings, by far the two biggest potential Tv markets in the nba, have a 1.06 and 2.59 tv rating and have had small rating shares for years. That is a ton of households not watching because of the overall size of those markets. I believe local ratings represent not total numbers relative to all the nba markets but shares for each individual market.… Read more »
Lakers lose to Suns. They’re cooked. LBJ must be having some regrets, he’s the only star they’ve landed. No Westbrook PG, Leonard, Butler, AD…. I doubt Walton will last another week, but the real culprit is Magic, he’s f’d up their roster, reputation for the foreseeable future.
If walton is fired…i wouldn’t be pissed at all if he ends up in cleveland. But i really want Mark Price to get his first shot at head coach in Cleveland. We have put our current hopes on a PG with a solid 3pt shot…let’s procure a coach with that skill and more.
Mark Price or die 2020.
Lakers blogs have big issues with Walton’s apparent lack of creativity (dating back to last season) and rotations. That scares me a bit. Feel like I could have stepped in for Kerr and coached the warriors to an .800 win percentage in 2016.
Yeah…i get that. Although the lakers’ blogs are the same who lauded Kobe for years.
Walton has been given garbage to make lineups out of.
But also…I think a mark Price head coach with Luke Walton assistant coach would be a really nice coupling.
Wait till Jason Kidd is there, their blogbois will love him.
i love lbj.. but LA losing to the lowly suns while fighting for a playoff spot !!?? the trade value for the core (brow-offering) keeps dropping.. and no one of note is heading out to give lbj any help..
i said a week ago they would miss the playoffs by 5 games…i meant it. They are built to fail. They are the same team that Lebron led to face the spurs in the finals…but LBJ doesn’t care as much as that season and the competition is also better. He should have stayed in cleveland no matter what. We could have fielded a solid ECF team no matter what happened this year.
After watching tonight’s game…it is clear Kevin Love is a legit annual all star. He makes this team look so good. But its not lost on me that zizic has become a very valuable defensive presence against other huge guys….he has really displayed a defensive toughness and verticality that we missed this game. Kudos to him for finding a role on both ends. If the cavs can sign him on a reasonable contract next year they should do it. He has chemistry with our current roster
We still have Zizic on his rookie contract for 2 more years after this…
And also the warriors are so beatable in 5 games…beating them in 7 though? Goodness that is a nightmare.
They are vulnerable if they aren’t focused and play stupid. Houston showed that last year. They can play a bit disconnected and nonchalant at times, even in the playoffs. I feel like this whole regular season was them being bored. But there is a danger in that. It has derailed dynasties before. It did to the shaq lakers. They took the regular season too casually in that fourth year and they couldn’t get back their mojo in the playoffs.
I could see a similar path this year with how unfocused the warriors have played this year.
The refs stole two games from Houston last year.
Bahahaha and draymond is the dumbest defensive pmayer sometimes
Man…mcconel is the delly of Philly and it’s awesome to watch.
Philly is such a bad clutch team. Butler thinks he is the 2nd coming of kobe and instead they should be getting shots for Riddick and Harris and should use their size to crash the offensive boards. Brown vs butler will ruin their legit title shot
They were about the most unclutch team I have ever seen in that Boston series last year.
Lakers losing to the Suns. If that happens they should fire Walton now.
Yeah…they probably will…but should they? The players they signed in the off-season spelled disaster from the beginning and we all called it. If anyone should be fired it is Magic Johson.
OK CLF / BUCK–I NEED YOU TO RENERGIZE MY BELIEF THAT “QUEESE ” HAS VALUE / POTENTIAL WORTH KEEPING / SIGNING IN THE OFF SEASON ———MY SUPPORT FOR HIM IS “FLEEING ” RAPIDLY
he may just be a lolly-gagging slacker.. sad.. if i had his tools, i would be in the woodshop 10 hours a day, sharpening them for my next entrance onto the big stage.. watching as jaws drop to the floor at my prowess.. just doesn’t seem to be how he rolls.. i assume he knows the clock is ticking..
Was this the worst loss of the season as far as point diff?
CAVS DID NOT “ROAR ” INTO MARCH—-“TANK BATALLION ” STILL INTACT —–NIC WHO ?? : )
Argh. I just had to tell my wife who Nik Stauskus was for the 500th time.
Honestly…i’d be thrilled if he turned out to be a decent bench player. He will never command much salary and is currently lost on both ends…but he tries is butt off.
He’s a ‘shooter’ who can’t shoot much. Simple.
he scored nearly all his points on dribble drives tonight, including pretty awesome dunk. I think he can still improve his shot…but I also think he has skills he hasn’t shown yet in the league
Sounds like a guy currently on the nets for the first few years of his career. Though Stauskas really can’t shoot.
Never seen Delly get beat so easily as this game. Doesn’t help that he has literally no one to force guys toward…but man we look awful
Kenard is having a spiritual experience. Geez.
Lenard is having a spiritual experience. Geez.
Larry really should be benching people for the effort at this point. Pistons are so open it’s like Chriss is playing all 5 positions
LNJ has been abjectly awful since losing his starting spot to Kev. Really hope they can sort that out cuz he was on a tear until then
JUST JOINING IN —LATE —(THOUGHT IT WAS 7:00 START )——NOT GOING TO PLAY KLOVE AGAINST THAT FRONT LINE OF PISTONS —–CHANCE OF INJURY / HUMILIATION ——–IS THIS THE START OF THE “CHANNING ” FAREWELL TOUR –HE IS DESERVING !!
cavs have gotten the awful end of so many of these questionable calls it’s insane this year. SHOCKED they didn’t count the bucket
omg black you pos…selling that garbage like it’s the end of the month
man do i love sexton’s development in the open floor…that is a huge boost
didn’t Klove say he was gonna be playing all the games the rest of the season?
Sorry guys. I just couldn’t resist.

Hahahaha
only redeeming part of this game is Larry Nance Jr mic’d up discussing how amazing cleveland fans are. That’s was pretty awesome.
The fact that we’re still watching this game is evidence of that.
Reading through the live feed, no KLove is definitely a game changer, especially with all those bigs on Detroit.
Just getting home and tuning in… WTF happened or didn’t happen?
oh boy…they shot unbelievably well and we shot unbelievably poorly…and on top of that we gave up layups and we missed layups they gave us. We have no answer for their size
Question is…can the cavs get to 80 points? can they stay within 50? can we get 2 defensive stops in a row?
Someone requested evidence of Chriss airballing a dunk…

Chrisse is one of the least disciplined players i’ve ever seen. He’s sasha pavlovic without the offense.
Honestly, I this butt whooping is probably good for them
Eek. Looking at the score, think I’ll skip watching this one…
Yezus. That bank shot. It’s one of those nights.
We are playing desperately and not thinking anymore. Pump fakes are all of a sudden gone.
LOL. Knight got a bailout call.
We look soooooo bad. also who the front door is Kenard? He has never missed a shot in his life
Oy. This is awful.
oh geez…this is the kind of game that really highlights everything Jordan Clarkson does wrong
oh well.. the not ready for primetime players.. still more luvable than last autumn.. and they try..
looks like drummond goin for 30+ rebs
Delly scrapping at least
oh thank goodness! Stauskas to the rescue!
what’s the deal with Klove?
Back to back so they’re resting him.
Well this is a boat race right now.
We will likely fight back if we keep it within 20…they have the record they have for a reason. But we need to get to the free throw line
Cavs pretty sluggish to start.
Don’t get much more wide open than that, Collin
Id be really happy if we competed this game. They have so much size though…goodness. We will need nwaba to hit the glass all night
