And… poof! It didn’t take much prestidigitation for the Cavs to turn back into a pumpkin after a few solid efforts in a row. All that was required was a bit of injury (Ante Zizic, Tristan Thompson) and load maintenance (Kevin Love), and the wine & gold conjured up a disappearing act last night, losing by 36 points at home against the Detroit Pistons.
Perhaps with Love back on the floor, the Cavs can pull a rabbit out of their hat against the visiting Orlando Magic tonight at the Q. Then again, the Magic has been putting on a pretty good show for the first time in recent memory, and are actually positioning themselves for a real shot at a playoff berth. They’re a surprisingly good defensive team also, ranking 8th in the NBA in defensive efficiency.
Prediction: The Cavs have a bit more effort up their sleeves for a while, but before you can say presto-chango, the Magic make the chance for victory disappear… 115-107.

Yes. We are the only crappy team not tanking for some reason. Have you noticed how many “comeback” wins we’ve had against crappy teams like the Knicks, the Suns, the Bulls, and against tonight against Orlando. Other teams are trying to lose, and it’s costing us draft position. I get it, but still. We’re going from a likely 3 or 4 pick to a likely 6 or 7 pick, which is a big difference.
I love seeing the #43 next to three point attempts as long as they are 90% from passing to shooters. I don’t have stats on that but i think about 70% were non-off the dribble if i remember correctly. But the cavs found something that worked in terms of dribble and kick and swing and penetrate and swing it again. It was masterful at times. Our bench was all in the positive double digit plus-minus. they smashed them.

Weird game. Bench unit killed it in terms of +/-. Delly +11, Nwaba +14, Chriss +15, Stauskas +17, Clarkson +20.

LeBron on this team would’ve been fun to watch. Starting lineup of Sexton, Cedi, LBJ, Nance, Love with Delly, Clarkson, Nwaba, TT off the bench.
I’m sure we wouldn’t have traded Korver/Hill/Hood, gotten Delly, or jettisoned JR if LeBron had stayed, but that team with Playoff LeBron would’ve had at least a chance against anyone in the East
They maybe don’t get Delly or move Korver, etc. It’s a journey that couldn’t be replicated. Cavs should get 4th pick and trade JR and TT for Bron.

Is there anyone at this point that thinks the Lakers without LeBron are actually better than the Cavs?
