Preseason Live Thread: Cavs @ Celtics

Cavs injury report for today’s preseason game against the Boston Celtics:

Darius Garland (left ankle sprain) -doubtful
John Henson (groin strain) – out
Ante Zizic (left foot soreness)- out

Coach John Beilein said he doesn’t expect to have Garland today.

For the Cavs, expect the young guys to get a lot of run. I fully expect token starts by the vets. For Boston, Daniel Theis starts at center, with Walker, Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart. Grant Williams had a big game Friday, with 10 points in 17 minutes, while Tatum, Brown, and Smart all scored in the teens.

Boston should be giving their youngins a lot of run too. Semi Ojeleye, Enes Kanter, Romeo Langford, Tremont Waters, and the gigantic Tacko Fall should provide entertaining viewing. Also, lets see if Gordon Hayward starts rounding into form.

In other news, CtB favorite and 50 year dive bar, the Ontario Street Cafe has closed. Cleveland Scene’s Douglas Trattner penned an obituary.

Located across the street from the Jack Casino, Ontario Street Café is a nearly 50-year-old lounge with an interior and ambiance from another era. Dimly lit, with mahogany bar, professional staffers and rock-bottom prices, the bar was an endangered species in an otherwise homogeneous landscape.

The one-of-a-kind bar is likely a casualty of Bedrock’s plans to turn over every tenant on the street while building a second pedestrian bridge so gamblers can walk from a garage directly into the casino in relative comfort.

Ah, corporate gentrification. What a wonderful homogenization of America. Do NE Ohio a favor, and eat and drink at places that don’t destroy neighborhoods before you hit Cavs games, fans.
