Live Thread: Cavs vs Magic
2019-12-06Oy. So yeah. Apparently there’s trouble in paradise since the Cavs have turned their team over to a college coach, and handed the keys to the offense to a guy who never passes. This was inevitable. Cleveland’s losing games either through malevolence or incompetence and their veterans did not sign up to be on a team this crappy.

Honestly, I’m surprised the revolt took this long. The Cavs have been purposely blowing games by playing terrible players in crunch time and letting the youngins get away with not passing to the guy who makes $30 mil a year.
We’ll see how this plays out on a night when David Fizdale got fired (good for him, he’ll be collecting three paychecks soon!) and when the Cavs play their only winnable game for a while.
The Magic have won six of the last eight, but they’re mostly playing crappy teams. Evan Fournier has been killing it and closing out on Bamba from three will be key.
As for the Cavs, it looks like only Dylan Winder remains on the injury list. As for the Magic, they’re still missing Michael Carter-Williams and Nikola Vucevik. We’ll know whether the Cavs can right the ship or whether the chemistry is toxic within the first 15 minutes. Should be an interesting one at least.

Love was most certainly the source for the Vardon/Shams article. He got pissy because Beilein benched him when Love got completely punked by Griffin the other night. Then the Woj report hits about Cavs looking for a trade, not hard to put two and two together.
Also interesting that last night was pretty much a rebuke of any talk that Beilein’s lost the team. Sad that Love quits on the team 20 games in, peace out homey.

Larry Nance is the Love replacement. They’ve been grooming him for that all year.
Unfortunate. Things appear to be unraveling. If Beilein has lost the team, he is unlikely to get it back because they won’t be putting forth optimal effort or likely be willing to listen in game which will lead to disorganization on both ends. Only thing that would help is winning. Unfortunately, if the players aren’t engaged, or organized, winning won’t likely happen.
You can’t watch that last game and say players weren’t engaged. They weren’t very good but they played hard.
Fair. I do wonder where this is coming from….. Love? Usually when coaches lose teams the players completely check out at some point.
Maybe some from Love, probably some from guys like Knight. Maybe just Knight, who knows…Vardon is a bit of a gossipy hack.
I think the fact that the busted their butta with love sitting out tells you the answer. Truthfully though it’s probably 50% Love, 50% Joe Vardon:s brain.

I would not pay money to watch this team. And even watching games for 2 hrs is tough to justify.
