Live Thread: Cavs @ Wolves (#ColdLikeMinnesota)
2019-12-28It may not be as frigid as usual this time of year in the land of many lakes, as the Cavaliers visit the Target Center in Minneapolis tonight. However, opponents don’t come too much colder than the Minnesota Timberwolves, who finally won a game in December after nipping the Sacramento Kings in double OT on Thursday 105-104. That ended an 11 game skid for the Wolves, and was the fifth game in a row missed by star center Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT is questionable for this one, though Gorgui Dieng has been filling in admirably for the injured big man. Meanwhile, the Cavs are playing the second night of a long-distance back-to-back, after the first night brought an end to their season-high three game winning streak. Despite the decisive loss in Boston to the Celtics, Cleveland showed some fight in the end by cutting the lead down to single digits in the fourth quarter. Also, it was a big game for former Minnesota star, Kevin Love, who scored 30 with six boards and four assists.
Tonight will be the next chapter in the Love for Andrew Wiggins swap, as both look to lead their teams to a W with some stone cold shooting… though Wiggins may not play either with the flu.
Prediction: The Cavs show the Wolves they need to stay up off those streets if they can’t take the heat, and keep things cold like Minnesota… freezing out the Wolves 112-107.
Catch all the action starting at 8pm EST on FSO, and as always chill out with us here in the comments…
Btw…anyone else notice the Cavs only hit 1 three in the second half? And the FT shooting…and the turnovers…and the officiating….
What the hell was going on???? I am so damn confused about what I watched….
So I had 2 TVs, a kindle, and an Amazon Fire stick all malfunction trying to keep me from watching this Cavs game. I ended up watching 95% of it on my cell phone and so was unable to comment along again tonight… But holy hell, that was the worst basketball game I’ve seen in a long time…and somehow the refs had an even worse game than the 28 (29) turnover Cavs. I watched most of the 4th quarter with my jaw dropped wondering what the hell the refs were doing…. Glad to see Nate recycled my joke about President… Read more »
EG you called the game… sharp as usual!
