Sebastian Pruiti Breaks Down Tristan Thompson
2011-07-12Tristan Thompson is a athletically gifted 20 year old (and physical freak – 6’8″ with a 7’2″ wingspan) who didn’t have the most consistant freshman season that we have seen, but he did show tremendous flashes of potential this year. Still, it was a surprise that the Cleveland Cavaliers took Thompson with the fourth overall pick with Jonas Valanciunas still on the board.
It’s difficult to find a decent pull-quote. Just click the link and watch Pruiti break down Thompson’s strengths and weaknesses.
I like TT and this write-up actually makes me feel even better about him. Good body, strong defender, offensive game that he does have translates well to the NBA… What I actually found more interesting is that the write-up on Irving didn’t make him seem all that impressive. Oh well, it will be an interesting season and Grant’s decisions will really be put to the test. Was TT a good pick? Should we have taken Williams over Irving? etc…
It’s nice to see that his only offense translates well to the NBA. I expect his defensive rebounding to improve early on. However, TT always looks hurried and out of control when he gets the ball on the block. He will be receiving a lot of lobs and transition passes but definitely needs to take care of the ball better.
