Live Thread: Cavs @ Traptors (#M.A.S.H)

Over the weekend, while the Cavaliers were getting beat up by the Hornets and Wizards, I visited the original site where they filmed the hit show M*A*S*H back in the late 70s and early 80s. So, it was pretty easy to figure out an appropriate theme for tonight’s contest against the Tampa Bay/Toronto Raptors.

The Cavs limp into the Amalie Arena (I had to look this up…), losers of five of their last six games, and one wonders if they will have enough players available to field a team for 48 minutes. A rash of concussions to Collin Sexton, Isaiah Hartenstein and Lamar Stevens, augmented by a neck strain for the accidentally head-butted Matthew Dellavedova, was worsened by the news that Larry Nance, Jr. will miss the remainder of the season with a broken thumb suffered late in the Wizards game.

Poor Nance must feel like some incarnation of Mr. Glass from Unbreakable these days, as he’s now broken bones in both hands, to go with a weird illness that caused him to lose 25 pounds and miss seven games. It leaves the team with just eight healthy bodies to suit up against the Traps.

This might be the official sign that the Cavs should raise the white flag on the remainder of the season. With just 12 games to go, and being six games out of even qualifying for the play-in tournament, it might be time to start positioning for the lottery.

The Cavs might just need to be airlifted home after this one…

Catch all the action starting at 7:30pm EST on Bally Sports Ohio (whatever that is…), and as always, hang out here for commiseration and memes.

GO (wounded) CAVS!
