Live Thread: Cavs @ Wizards

Tonight we have the Cleveland Cavaliers traveling to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards, who still need to secure their spot into the play in tournament as a 10th seed. It’s been reported that Kevin Love will be sitting out as the Cavs manage his calf injury, while Darius Garland and Cedi Osman are questionable to return from their ankle injuries.
The betting public doesn’t expect a particularly close game, with the Cavs being nine point underdogs at the time of this writing. The hope is that we see continued growth from the young guys and a competitive game, hopefully the Cavs can keep it within single digits. Go Cavs!!!
Clips rested everyone & lost to Houston. Dropping from 3rd to 4th.
Hopefully we see more of that on the week-end. Still some teams can get to 22. Minny to 23.

Seems to support the idea he’s better at the 2, because he’s played the 2 more post-ASB, but has hit a wall to end the season.

Cedi/Okoro/Allen looked great. Sexton was awful with turnovers but getting his usual buckets.
DG looked fine, couple of great passes, made a 3… just rusty and took it really easy.
Didn’t realize DG played, so Okoro and Cedi had a good game even with Sexland around? That seems a bit unusual but welcome, to be sure!
yeah, one lineup that’s been bad all year for reasons I don’t understand is DG and Cedi… but they were great together tonight… ball was popping when they were in there with Okoro and Wade/Kabengele
yeah DG played, only 12 minutes off the bench, didn’t start, and didn’t play in the second half they said it was minutes restriction.

So does anyone have data with Ice at the 2 instead of the 3? I would love to see if that actually makes a difference, also data on him with only 1 of SexLand since he just seems so much better with a higher usage and at the 2
Basically every combo of the young guys show that they’re a lot better with them on the court than off except for Sexton. Team’s better with Sexton off the court than on.
Kinda what I thought but I wonder what some of the advanced analytical models like EPM say about it, if anything

According to 82games, we had 6 guys who were positives for the year: ie the Cavs outscored their opponents while they were on the court. Not surprisingly for a 22 win team, all 6 have not played many minutes.
Exum & Bolden are not with the team anymore. Thomas & Kabengale were +7 & +4 headed into tonight, and could be negative now. The others? Hartenstein & Love.
Oh I just meant on/off net ratings, they were all negatives, but DG and Okoro the team was like -14/-15 with them off.
