Pregame, I was gonna tweet that if the Cavs are serious about making the post-season, they’d send Sexton to the bench. I must conclude that they are not serious. For the Grizz?

Grizzlies having the balls to start a second rounder from last year on opening night, speaks volumes about their system and their ability to spot and develop talent. I really wanted the Cavs to grab Desmond Bane last year. Against this Cavs zone, he may feast tonight.
On the injury front, Dean Wade is doubtful, and Dylan Windler is out. Dillon Brooks is sidelined for 2-3 weeks for the Grizzlies.
Expect the Cavs to sub early and often and to try a lot of different combos tonight. I think they’ll remain competitive before Ja pulls it out for Memphis in the end. Cavs cover the spread though!

ja is a unicorn.. but that was known.. he had a great 1st game.. and is going to have a huge career barring injury.. BUT.. the cavs “big 2” short high 1st round guards (#8 and #5) were outplayed by taller “garbage” picks (#30 and #46).. this is a problem.. i have been telling everyone that it is a problem, and now it should be clear to everyone that it is a problem.. lack of talent is a problem.. inability to find “hidden” talent is a serious problem.. there are a limited number of “high” picks.. when your prized, more… Read more »

Cavs are gonna be fun to watch this year, hope JB plays the best players more often than not
the 2 jalens (#2 green and #4 suggs) had mediocre 1st games.. 9 and 10 pts.. i will take the big young fella taken at #3.. he played a heck of a 1st game and has a very bright future.. cavs were lucky this was a top-heavy draft.. allowing the gift at #3
I was convinced he’d be gone before the Cavs picked. Was ecstatic Houston didn’t nab him . No clue what Green will go on to do, but I was nervous about him on the Cavs. Mobley looked like he’d be a blast to watch develop. So far so good.

are teams keying into Morant defensively and just draping him Curry-style with a full time defensive assignment? Okoro’s early fouls didn’t help, wonder if you throw Stevens at him for 3-4 minutes? lots of Cavs mistakes in this game but the Grizzlies scoring and ease of passage to the basket seems like a problem. CLF mentioned rebounding issues too
