Live Thread: Pistons @ Cavs

Tonight the Cavs will try to bounce back from a gut wrenching loss to the Washington Wizards, taking on the struggling Detroit Pistons in a Central Divison matchup. The Cavs will still be missing Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love due to Healthy and Safety Protocol.
This is a matchup that the Cavs should win, but the question for this young Cavs’ team is whether they can ignore outside expectations and execute on the floor. Are they satisfied being a .500 team, or do they want to push the envelope as Cedi Osman’s quote reveals:

What would be awesome is a double digit beatdown because the Cavs are clearly playing better, but what feels more likely is a defensive struggle that comes down to who has the last shot. Here’s to hoping yours truly is dead wrong lol.

I think you’re correct…but im a Homer for life. I think our size changes the match up. I predict we win by 7…after steph sprains his shooting thumb in the 2nd and draymond has food poisoning at halftime…
For sure, our size can definitely help and the Cavs presents a totally different challenge.
I think just the difference in guard play will be too much to overcome, but I believe in DG so hopefully he rises to the challenge!!!

Probably not as constructed. While the Cavs will continue to own the paint, the Bulls are a perimeter team- the exact kind of team the Cavs will struggle against (like the Dubs)- especially when Sexton comes back. A Sexton/Garland backcourt will be helpless against three 6’5″+ guards.

While I appreciate Okoro’s modern game “Threes or Rim” game, he really needs to develop a mid-range pull up. A true SG needs that in his arsenal, if that is going to be his future. The rare times he gets stuck with the ball in the last 5 seconds, he either jacks up an unconfident three, or does a Sexton-like rim run. He needs another option.
