Live Thread: Cavs @ Thunder

Good evening CtB!

It’s Saturday night and the Cavs have ventured up the Interstate 35 corridor, across the Red River to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder. The Cavs are looking to put an exclamation point on their six game road trip by beating the Thunder, which would give them a sterling 5-1 record on the road trip. The task won’t be easy, the Thunder are a young and hungry team featuring a couple of personal favorites, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and rookie Josh Giddey. Another factor working against the Cavs is that this is the second game of a back to back with the Brooklyn Nets looming less than 48 hours after tonight.

Unfortunately for the Cavs, Rajon Rondo will be out again, meaning the Cavs will have to look towards Brandon Goodwin to supply some crucial minutes. Luckily, Goodwin has acquitted himself well especially given his status as a mid-season addition. The Thunder come into the game with nearly all hands on deck.

As for the game itself, it will be a battle of extremes: the Cavs’ elite defense versus the Thunder’s abysmal offense. The Thunder do play relatively good defense, so limiting turnovers will be important for the Cavs to limit cheap points for the Thunder’s offense. Expect the game to be similar to last night’s game, with the Cavs having to grind out a close one on the road.

Tip off is scheduled for 8:00PM ET and will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes… GO CAVS!
