2022-02-28Tonight the Minnesota Timberwolves have revenge on their mind as they pay a visit to the shores of Lake Erie to take on the Cavs in their season finale. The Cavs served a proper beatdown in Minneapolis 123-106 in a game Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland absolutely dominated, while Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio put on a show against their former team. Much has changed since then, and the Cavs find themselves simultaneously in the underdog/hunted role.
If the Cavs have any designs on winning, they must come up with a plan to neutralize D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards on the perimeter, Brandon Goodwin and Isaac Okoro will have their hands full tonight. Karl Anthony Towns vs. Jarrett Allen is must see TV, and Allen will have to dominate that matchup if the Cavs want a chance to win. Can Evan Mobley be an X-factor in this game? Point Mobley might be a nice weapon! Let’s hope Coach J.B. Bickerstaff loosens up and get more creative in his decisions, they need to find some energy from somewhere.

the inconsistencies of the 1st/4th quarters and the 2nd/3rd quarters is quite startling. I don’t think injuries have a lot to do with that, that is an effort issue and even via highlights it was obvious how the Cavs stopped playing defense and rebounding in middle quarters…team needs to learn how to play with adversity and challenges…DG has an injury history with the team…Levert is too new to make a difference, Cavs should have won this game if ALL guys step up and that didn’t happen.
often basketball is a “game of runs”. one team gets hot, then the other team gets hot. repeat. it has always been this way, nothing mysterious about it.

Eastern conference still up for grabs, keep the faith everyone. A lot of attrition with the inter conference play. Nets beat the Bucks, they got crushed tonight by the Raptors, Heat beat the Bulls, the Hornets lost…. We just need to keep playing hard, we have a much easier schedule than we did in the first half. It’s going to be a grind. These guys don’t quit.
