Cavs: the Podcast #268 (or, The Longest March)
2022-03-30Emerging from their winter hibernation, Nate Smith, Elijah Kim, Chris Francis, and Chris Lyden took a spring break trip to the Cavs: the Podcast resort studios to catch up on all the craziness of the Cavs’ season post-All Star Break. In true CtB fashion, they push this episode as best as they could to the two hour mark. So don’t worry, if it has anything to do with the Cavs, the quartet has got you covered.
They break down the latest Cavs games against the Magic and Bulls, opine on down where things have gone wrong and right this season, hold yet another referendum on JB Bickerstaff, look forward to the regular season stretch run, make some bold post-season and off-season predictions, look at the rest of the NBA, and praise Elijah Kim and his Amazing Technicolor Cavs Coat. it’s a long podcast for a very long month!

Iron Man Chris Francis, I love it! He’s got the record for consecutive recaps, don that the Junkyard Dog chain my friend– I enjoyed the beginning of this pod, looking forward to all two hours, oy!
Thank you Adam!!! I got the chain on!!! LMFAOOOOOO
LT up
Oh man just getting to the Lebron talk. No drama baby. Lets keep that as long as possible. We have pre- warriors dynasty level cohesion developing.
WAY TO GO GUYS !!!—–CTB FOR “ASSISTANT ” COACH OF THE YEAR !!
Per Fedor, Moses Brown gets the start tonight. We did it, boys
Absolute Kingmakers
LMFAOOOOO NO WAY!!!
WILL SAY THAT WILL COST MOBES THE ROY !!
MOBES OUT AT LEAST THE NEXT 3 GAMES—-BRING ON “HOLY ” MOSES !!
JB mentioned that he isn’t in a boot and is eager to play- staying home for the next road trip in order to express rehab- Shams then reported the team expects Mobley and Allen to be back before the end of the regular season. Fingers crossed!
AGREE WITH YOU SCOTCH —ON LAURI—-FITS THE “PUZZLE “—–AGE / TALENT // ATTITUDE
I think Lauri needs to considered as much a part of the core plan for the team going forward as Allen and Mobley and Garland. He’s been so much better than advertised it’s crazy (and on both ends of the floor…) and as you guys said he’s so young. the future is super bright and expensive for Dan Gilbert haha
Just had a chance to listen to the first half of this pod. To Chris Francis – thank you for the JB/ Windler discussion, especially regarding JB’s ‘trust factor’. I posted a couple of snarky comments along those lines in the live thread. Pretty tired of hearing about JB’s ‘trust level’ with players who have played well. Dude, half your roster is out due to injury.
Agree with you guys on Brown, too…absolutely no reason he can’t be playing 10 minutes a game, particularly in lieu of the Love/ Lauri ‘big man’ combo, which is just a layup line.
The Windler Agenda victory tour will continue unabated!!!
Great discussion thanks for this content guys. I think Rubio earned JB his contract and it’s going to show big time next season when the cavs struggle to compete early on. I don’t think he can’t become a good coach, but the contract was just waaayy too early and could have been a hinderance to developing the young team further. The successful season is awesome…but it’s come at the cost of too many mins for too many players to chase a playoff run that wasn’t supposed to happen…and it’s turned the cavs into one or two trick ponies. Was a… Read more »
You’re welcome Scotch as always!!!
I think the season has been handled pretty well by and large, just didn’t like to see Goodwin, Windler, and Brown not get rewarded for putting in the work.
HOORAY !!! A CtB PODCAST…. It’s been a great year regardless of what transpires over the next two weeks. Here’s to the demise of “the stealth tank”. It wasn’t discussed, but I’m curious what everyone thinks are the odds of us getting Rubio back, with the Spanish fly and a playoff series under our belts this team of upstarts could be serious contenders.
Hasn’t been any news about Rubio that I’ve heard. I’d like him back at the right price, but he may not play till the back half of the season, whatever he decides to do. This has been a mostly great season for Cavs fans, but that injury is still the biggest gut punch of the year. I really don’t have much doubt that Cavs would be in the top four of playoff teams if he had been healthy all year.
Yup, no news and probably won’t be until next season, when there will a read of how far his rehab has progressed.
Love did mention his name at least twice in the post game tho!
ALL IN FOR MORE MOSES —-GOOD TIME TO ‘ THROW HIM IN THE FIRE ” GET A GOOD READ ON HIS FUTURE FIT —-SO FAR I LIKE WHAT I SEE IN HIM !!!
DID A ‘CLF ” ON HUSBAND OF THE YEAR —THE MRS NOMAD DID AN EVEB BIGGER “CLF ” WHEN SHE READ IT :-) POSTED EARLIER —STILL ” HOLDING OUT HOPE ” ON LEVERT —-MAYBE SIMILAR TO LAURI ( HE STRUGGLED EARLY ALSO ) HE IS STRUGGLING TO “FIND HIS GROOVE”— HIS BEING INJURED SHORTLY AFTER BECOMING A CAV AND HAVING TO SO CALLED RESTART DIDN’T HELP MUCH—WE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE A TRUE EVALUATION UNTIL NET YEAR– (IF HE IS STILL A CAV )– HAS A FULL TRAINING CAMP WITH THEM // ETC
LMFAOOOO NOMAD’s wife is undefeated!!!
good point with Lauri ramping up after a cool start.
“DITTO” FOR CLF JUNK YARD DOG AWARD !!!!
WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF
Awesome work guys, and seconded on Chris’s junkyard dog award. Dude is putting in the work! I’m good with JB. Only major issue I really have is the work load management that’s been well covered. One thing that doesn’t get enough love for this season is how absolute drama free it’s been. That was my wish list item last year; I said I’d take the next 5-10 years of having a just above average team, probable first round playoff exit if it meant we could do away with all the drama. Apologies if I cursed the team to that fate…… Read more »
Great point about the drama.
3rded
Agreed!
drama-free is a good point. that is probably due to both JB and the fact that most of the players and not divas.
DAMN IT MUST BE “SPRING TIME “—THE NEVER ENDING MRS NOMAD LIST HAS RESURFACED-( ACTUALLY NEVER PUT AWAY ) ” AND WE HAVE A FRIGGIN PODCAST —I MUST BE IN HEAVEN—NO THIS IS JUST CTB AT IT’S FINEST !!——THANKS GUYS
You’re welcome, and NOMAD gonna get that “husband of the year” award!!!
I recall a friend getting “Dad of the Year” once, for taking his daughter and three of her friends to a Hanson concert.
LMFAOOO hey Hanson is pretty talented!
But enduring hours of screaming teenage girl fans???! That’s Dad of the Year worthy!
Posting for the first time in years to confirm that I am, indeed, a Hanson fan.
listening now, thanks C:tb!!!!
-agree on Okoro, why is his rebounding rate so poor?
-Also agree on LeVert, this has not worked out so far…
-Cedi has high highs and low lows, i think JB is wanting some more consistency off the bench
-would love to see Moses around 15-20 mins tonight and Goodwin at least 10-12 mins to give DG a bit more rest.
100% agree DanK!
Haven’t seen all of his minutes, but I’ve been impressed with how comfortable Moses has looked on the team.
Relieved to have another CtB pod in my ears, this drought has had me searching for alternative pods and it’s all just been pretty lame out there. Need something bloodier than blood, and CtB brings the juice!
LMFAOOOOO love it Simmo!
