Live Thread: Cavs @ Knicks

Today the Cavs are in the Big Apple for a Broadway matinee, taking on the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. The Cavs will try to snap a two game losing streak while the Knicks are scouting their younger talent for next season. The Cavs are currently in the seventh seed and a win would go a long way to keep the pressure on Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Atlanta for the play-in scrum.
In what seems to be a key matchup every game for the Cavs, they will have to keep the Knicks off the glass on defense if they have any designs on winning.
Tip off is scheduled for 1:00PM ET and will be broadcasted live on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes, Go Cavs!

Chicago has the toughest remaining schedule by far. If the cavs can go 3-1 and the bulls lose out…that seems to be out only chance we could possibly have it sneaking back up to 6th. Not completely impossible

someone “in the know” told me that JA’s finger issue is from punching a locker. anyone recall the sequence of events that day?
If you watch the game video, it’s clear his finger caught on the rim as his hand swept just beneath it. He may have punched a locker, too, I have no idea, but I can easily see his getting the break hitting the rim.
a friend of mine was at HS BB practice when a guy wearing a ring got the ring caught on one of the things that hold the net to the rim. they had to hold him up until someone got a stepladder to go up and unhook him.
Sad I missed this one, especially in a much-needed win on the road. I didn’t know it was an early game.
And for crying out loud, can we please get an update on likelihood of JA returning for at least the last game or two of the season? Think it’s important to reintegrate him before the play-in if at all possible
So my daughter and I just looked at remaining schedules for 5-10 in the EC and projected: Toronto 3-2 Chicago 1-4 Cavs 2-2 (maybe a tiny bit optimistic but hoping Bucks rest starters for final game) Brooklyn 4-1 Atlanta 2-3 Charlotte 2-2 If that’s correct, it’ll shake out: 5 – Toronto 48-34 6 – Chicago 46-36 7 – Cavs 45-37 8 – Brooklyn 44-38 9/10 – Atlanta/Charlotte 42-40 (they’re 2-2 head to head and have same conference record so not sure who has next tie breaker) In other words, seems highly unlikely we either climb out of the play-in or… Read more »

his brain is broken, don’t understand how the coaches aren’t telling him to jack shots every time he touches the ball.
He’s just never really been a good shooter. Ever. Despite his form and being touted as a good shooter out the draft.
80% free throw shooter, he’s a good shooter, just been injured and getting screwed on minutes now.
He shot 40.6% from three in college…43% his senior year on over 7 attempts per game. He can shoot.
He shot 39% while playing with the Charge this season. He can shoot threes.
Cuz the head coach is clearly not interested in developing him.
Not sure if it’s disinterest or just has no idea how to. Same result either way.

The Knicks are @$$, though.
they’ve won 6 out last 10, this was no easy win. Cavs stepped up.
We’ve lost 4 backup point guards and our 2 best big men. Literally no one in the NBA has more reasonable excuses than us. And the Knicks have been playing well
