The Cavs welcome the Boston Celtics to the shores of Lake Erie for a major Eastern Conference matchup with both teams desperate to stack wins as the regular season comes to a close. The Celtics lost a double overtime heartbreaker to the New York Knicks, whereas the Cavs are coming off an easy win against the Detroit Pistons. Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, and Robert Williams III will be unavailable, but their roster is probably the deepest in the NBA and can easily pull off the upset road win. The Cavs will have to play their A-game if they want to come away victorious, and especially Tower City for that matter given how they laid an absolute egg last week.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes, Go Cavs!

I notice Josh Giddey had a fantastic game against the Warriors. 17 assists, 11 rebounds. Kind of funny they list him as a SG.
I was really impressed by watching him in the rising stars game. So relaxed, great awareness. I think he’s going to be an absolute stud, like a 6-8 Steve Nash. I love Darius but I kinda wish we could trade for Josh straight up.

oh yeah that’s fair, i mean he’s easily a 10-12 season NBA lifer, but just watched a video he can’t make a layup left handed and doesn’t have 1v1 dribble drive moves… along with no jumper i think that’s caps his ceiling.

The Knicks are neck and neck with the Celtics and Bucks for best team in the East since the start of December. No idea if they keep it up, but they defend like mothers and I’m not excited about playing them in a series.

I am in favor of cutting out the total BS in all records. Probably more controversially, I maintain Pete Rose’s most hits and Cal Ripkin Jr’s consecutive games played were rigged and should be rescinded.

I’m not a big baseball guy but if I recall correctly Ripkin had some games during his streak where he shouldn’t have played but started anyway (to keep it going) and subbed out immediately.
100% this happened…and it was always a a weird sports thing that kept baltimore’s seats more full than they would otherwise have been. Most records are nonsense marketing tactics
because he only played every game because of how famous he was. He had a lot of years where he was batting in the 240’s and 250’s — not exactly a guy you want playing everyday.
Contrast that with Lou Gehrig, who insisted that he be taken out of the lineup when his skills eroded due to Lou Gehrig Disease.

Watching replay and haven’t read comments. It would appear Steves was the lightning rod for the comeback with strength around the basket that JA couldn’t provide.
Jared seemed to be laboring, despite not many minutes, when he was in. Also, I think I only saw one play go through him and never saw him as the roll man on their usual motions. But, given how llama looked, he could be fighting some stiffness idk
Come on CtB, this was a good win against a damn good team that wanted to win. Yeah they didn’t play Tatum, they are also easily the deepest team in the NBA. they’re 6,7 and 8 are starting almost anywhere else.

Was following CtB throughout the game, but then decided to turn away mid 4th qtr while still watching the game. May need to bench myself in some future games.
Be nice to Lamar. When the D is underwhelming, JB should turn to him, at least for a few minutes. A missed 3 pointer or two may be a small price to pay.

In a way it would have been better to lose the game. I’m not sure they took the depleted Celtics seriously, and thought they could turn it on in the 4th, which ended up working barely. Really immature way to play.
Which will come back to bite them at some point.It’s hard to figure how a team that lost two play in games last yr to muff playoff hopes feels so cocky.

I think the Celtics have figured out to neutralize JA now. Two straight games where they completely took him out. They haven’t figured out Mobley, though. (not sure anyone is going to figure out Mobley)
To me, Mitchell, Mobley, and eventually Stevens, played their tails off. There is no excuse for everyone not to do that if those guys are, especially Mitchell, who came in banged up. Wade needs to look to shoot when open or GTFO the court. He passed up at least one open drive to the hoop on a break. No idea what’s going on with him.
Yes MikeO, I think I remember the same play you saw, Wade got all the way to the basket with the nearest defender a step or two behind – and passed it out. WTF?!
