Live Thread: Pacers @ Cavs

The Cavs welcome the Indiana Pacers to the shores of Lake Erie to take on the Cavs in a game that means a lot more to the Cavs than the quasi-tanking Pacers. The Cavs still need to win a few more games to wrap up the fourth seed, and they are still trying to get guys healthy and up to speed for the playoffs. To that end, there’s a massive change to the starting lineup tonight:

That’s right, the Dean Wade Agenda has finally emerged victorious. Yours truly has been clamoring for this lineup for a long time and Coach J.B. Bickerstaff has kindly obliged the rabid Wade fans across Cavs’ fandom. As on can see from the stats below, it’s easy to see why J.B. went to this lineup to see what they can do:
Hopefully playing with the starters will help Wade in a similar fashion that it helps Isaac Okoro, by spoon feeding Wade the easiest looks on offense and nothing else. Where Wade’s focus should be is on defense and rebounding, the latter of which has been total garbage ever since Kevin Love was benched and bought out. I commend J.B. for finally giving this a run especially given the low stakes in this game.
Who are the Pacers statistically? They are a terrible defensive team, and one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA. There will opportunities to crash the offensive glass for easy buckets. On offense, they are a good passing team and love to push the pace. So controlling tempo and forcing turnovers will be key for the Cavs to ensure victory.

To me the most sense in the world is starting Cedi and using Wade as backup 4 with Mobley sliding to center when Allen is out. Then the bench rotation is Rubio, Caris, a pinch of Neto and Danny Green, and Llama if they really need to shut down a specific type of scorer.
Wade is light years better with an established role with starters. Fix his role and his confidence seems to return. Cedi is way more likely to succeed off the bench both chemistry wise and role wise against other team’s backups

It sounds like there’s uncertainty around Okoro’s knee. JB isn’t sure he will be ready for playoffs. Per Fedor.
That ‘flagrant’ that Mitchell benefitted from was just what we needed to get over the hump. Still hate that rule though

Dallas really messed up letting Brunson go, then trading away their depth for Irving. They will likely miss the play-in tourney. And Irving will likely walk at seasons end.
Irving is total poison.
The Nets came out ahead on the KI adventure, because they signed him as a free agent, and got something when they traded him. But they got hosed on trading for the Golden Turd, giving up a lot and winding up with — Ben Simmons!

Cavs need to come correct against the Magic.. they aren’t an easy out and they are home.
I think it will be a nice little test about staying focus on the road.. these last 3 games.. including tonight (through 3 quarters) has been frustrating.
Yup, Magic been playing .500 ball for the a long time now, i think almost last 40-50 games now.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of easy outs other than Detroit or Houston.

The Lakers are gonna get the six seed and make at least the Western conference finals. This could be Lebron’s last big run.
I think they will get the 7th.. They are 1/2 game back from 5th/6th (Clippers/GSW tied in record 41-38)
GSW just lost tonight and plays at home VS OKC, and on the road against Sac and Portland.
Clippers play LA Lakers “at home”, Portland at home and @Suns
