Live Thread: Cavs @ 76ers

Good evening CtB!

The Cavs have made their way to the banks of the Delaware River to take on the Philadelphia 76ers in a massive, nationally televised matchup between two playoff teams from last season. The Sixers have never looked better as Coach Nick Nurse has unlocked a higher level of play from Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Perhaps it was as easy as flushing the Golden Turd down the toilet, and donating the Minivan to charity? Who can say. On the other hand, the Cavs can validate their performance against the world champs with a victory tonight, but they will have to do it without Donovan Mitchell, Isaac Okoro, Ty Jerome, and probably Caris LeVert. Can Craig Porter, Jr. keep the gravy train rolling??? Stay tuned…

Yours truly would be remiss to not mention that Embiid has totally owned Jarrett Allen every single time they match up… if Jarrett Allen can somehow do what he did to Nikola Jokić to Embiid, then that would go a long way in helping the Cavs steal victory from the jaws of defeat.

5-MAN LINEUP RANKINGS:

There has been some laughable talk about how the Cavs would be better without Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert, yet somehow four out of the top five 5-man lineups the Cavs have used this season (minimum 12 minutes) have Spida and Chef Caris in them, and they’re dominating the competition. Caris and Spida haters will have to continue to seethe and cope until further notice.

TOWER CITY AND SPIDALAND AGENDAS VINDICATED

Early returns on bringing back Tower City and Spidaland are favorable. Spidaland’s defense sucks but it doesn’t matter because they cannot be stopped on offense. Tower City doesn’t defend the three point line all that well, but it doesn’t matter because opposing teams can’t score in the paint and can’t stop JA and Mobley from finishing at the rim at an elite rate. All that really needs to be figured out at this point is what these guys can do against real championship contenders… so #staytuned

Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live and nationally on TNT, Go Cavs!
