The Cavs welcome the Houston Rockets to the shores of Lake Erie for a low-key big time non-conference battle. Rockets made some shrewd free agent pick ups and are surprisingly above .500 past the quarter pole of the season. Beating the Cavs on the road would be validation for Coach Ime Udoka and the Rockets. For the Cavs, it’s a chance to grind out a decent win as they continue to head toward the soft part of their schedule. This game is the perfect launchpad for expanding the Donovan Mitchell MVP Agenda, so #staytuned…
Checking the numbers for the first time in awhile, it’s nice to see improvements from Craig Porter Jr., and Sam Merrill from the beginning of the season until now. Their recent positive play has led to some exciting stretches especially when either are paired with Dean Wade. There is now plenty of opportunity for “James” Dean Wade and CPJ to really take off with the injuries to Evan Mobley and Darius Garland to earn themselves starting minutes type of load.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM Eastern time and will broadcasted live on Bally Sports Ohio, Go Cavs!

Yo CTB, appreciate the effort and willingness to take on supporting this endeavor. In addition to the content (which is great and unique) the community provides an opportunity to connect with others from our shared background when I’m not present there to, um, enjoy? it. Anyway, think you guys know what I mean. Things get heated on here, but it comes from a good place, mostly. It’s been a nice couple of years made the better knowing there’s some other like minded folks out there to enjoy it with. Happy holidays!

Wish JB had played CPJ some in the second half though riding Donovan that much isnt great. 10 men in the first half, 9 in the second. Not sure the logic there, esp when CPJ is playing solid ball. I’m tired of watching 4 on 5 offensive basketball. The Cavs have a 106.5 offensive rating whenever he’s taken the court this season. It’s year 4, and literally any NBA fan outside of the Cavs bubble can see he doesn’t belong on an NBA court. And now there’s legitimate alternatives in CPJ and Merrill who actually know how to play but are hamstrung by politics and analytics BS…. I’m going to talk shit. I hear you. It’s hard when u disagree with the coach. I certainly don’t want it to be toxic here, but it is tough when you watch Okoro screen his own guy. I’m trying to be better about it, but it’s something I struggle with beyond basketball. It was a fun game and I’m sorry if negativity detracted from your enjoyment. I want to embrace passionate disagreement without it becoming toxic. The trick is being as excited about the good as the bad. I’ll try to keep grinding.
A lot of people have trouble watching sports without being negative.
One guy I have watched a million games with constantly goes off about how dumb the coach is (“why arn’t they doubleteaming x, y, and z?”, “why are they only rushing 4?”, …). In fact, he just sent a mass email a couple weeks ago about how Stefanski is the worst coach in NFL history and should be fired right now. In the real world, Stefanski is the leading candidate for Coach of the Year.
Despite being a quick trigger loudmouth, I am trying to be a good citizen. This includes waiting a bit before pressing “Post Comment” when PO’ed. Also editing things I wish I hadn’t said, (hopefully) before anyone reads them.
