Live Thread: Cavs @ Jazz
2024-04-02Howdy, Cavs fans. The Cavs are out west on their last road trip of the season, parking the stagecoach in Salt Lake City tonight. The injury picture is grim. Donovan Mitchell is out for load management with a back-to-back tomorrow. Okoro, Porter Junior, and Ty Jerome are also out. Dean Wade may be out for the season if he doesn’t respond to treatment.
The Jazz are similarly similarly depleted, with Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, and Lauri Markennan riding the pine. Collin Sexton gets a chance to show the Cavs kept the wrong point guard, so expect Youngbull to be hyped. With the absence of Okoro and Wade, the Cavs have had a hard time stopping g guard penetration, so Collin may feast.
We’ll see what the night has in store. Go Cavs.
GO NETS ββ- HANG ON AGAINST THE PACERS
Kind of want the Pacers to keep that spot. We donβt need the Heat as the 6th seed.
facts…
THANKS FOR SHARING SWEETCHIE ββGOOD ARTICLE ππ
Caris highlighted on Andscape:
HOW MANY β Wβ s HAS CARIS β COOKIN β BEEN A MAJOR PLAYER/ FACTOR IN ββββ FOR A PLAYER THAT HAS BEEN MUCH MALIGNEDββWE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE HIMββ- HE WON T WIN IT β- BUT SHOULD BE IN THE RUNNING FOR 6th MAN OF THE YEAR!!
His versatility is so helpful. I think we are probably looking to move him and maybe Wade with the pick this off-season for quality backup size and/or a PG but heβs really helpful
(Brogdon / Williams?)
I doubt it. This reminds me of the zillion wacky trades for Allen that everyone was proposing last off season.
He’s a high variance player. Need those sometimes.
He does a good job, willing to alter his game to fit, good effort ….
HEARING/ READING WADE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE PLAYING IN THE PLAYOFFSββHE MISSED LAST YEARS PLAYOFFS ALSOβ- HIS INJURY/ HEALTH TRACK RECORD IS BECOMING A CONCERNβ-MY OPINION ONLY
any word on what the problem is?
Knee soreness upgraded to “sprain”. Very non-specific language. If I were to bet, swelling in the knee capsule due to another low-grade meniscal tear.
Iβd actually consider extending his current deal: but the health is so rough
You are not alone.
It is why he cannot start. He is a 15-20 min guy, at most.
SO MUCH FOR WATCHING REPLAY π‘ββGOOD/ NEEDED β Wβ ββ- COULD GO 0-3,NEXT 3 GAMESβ-1 β Wβ COULD BE HUGE IN THE PLAYOFF SEEDINGββ REST FOR SPIDA MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE βWsβ
The Raptors have lost 14 in a row. Theyβve really taken a dive.
Hoping the Cavs come to play tomorrow night. Iβm staring at the standings and remaining games of the Cavs and others. That would really help.
If Indy canβt beat OKC, they are gonna basically be maxed at 6 and thereβs no way they catch us.
Iβm hoping for us to stay at #3, and ideally have the Pacers end up at #6 (avoiding the Knicks and Heat in the first round and staying out of the Celtic side of the bracket.) Itβs gonna be interesting. The Heat could easily bop up to that #6 slot. I want nothing to do with Jimmy Buckets in the first round.
Or the 76ers.
I think we are fine against Miami or Philly: Philly canβt really run the trapping and blitzing stuff that hurts our offense.
Miami is extremely guardable. They caught us sleeping twice but no back to backs in the playoffs. Quiet as itβs kept Jimmy wasnβt particularly great last year, and Caleb Martin was their best player in the ECF. They got a LOT of breaks
The one thing that was worth taking away was how we beat some (lazy) traps to get the bigs going
Geez Niang 0-7 from 3.
Good defense and playmaking but damn
that is why he is not a starter.
rather streaky, but overall average is not bad.
I thought he had a great floor game! Our shooting depth is so good that we can live with Niang or Strus missing
38 assists!
So was there a clear winner of the Cleveland-Utah trade?
f*ck yes! we don’t got Sexton anymore!

Morris was a good pick up for us heading into the playoffs.
