Live Thread: Cavs @ 76ers
2025-01-24Welcome to Philadelphia, Cavs fans. Cleveland takes on an injury riddled Sixers squad in the Liberty City tonight. Philly has lost seven in a row and are without Embiid, Lowry, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond, KJ Martin, and Jared McCain. The Cavs are still without Mobley, Okoro, and LeVert. A lot of sandwich game potential in this one with a rematch versus Houston tomorrow and the Cavs wrapping up a road trip. Let’s hope they figure it out. Go Cavs.
BETTER NOW THAN LATER—- KA EVEN ALLUDED TO THAT
Out:
Dean Wade (knee); Isaac Okoro (shoulder); Luke Travers (two-way); JT Thor (two-way).
Questionable:
Evan Mobley (calf); Caris LeVert (wrist).
Unless Traverse and Thor are injured they should be available to play. Now is the right time, with all these injuries adding up.
Wade out, maybe for a while
TJ and DM became the fifth pair of teammates in NBA history to each record at least 33 points and seven three-pointers in the same game —

It looks like all of Okoro, Mobley, and LeVert are listed as day-to-day, so I’d imagine they will be back soon.
Ice didn’t travel to Philly.
I’m expecting they will take their time on him and Mobley
JUST GOT HOME FROM MY GAME—— LOST BY 1 —ON A MADE 60’ 😡😡😡—— “” MORE THOR “ —TOMLIN WOULD GIVE YOU MORE THAN “ DANG – NIANG “ —- WHAT A WASTE OF GREAT TY GAME—- LET MOBES / ICE GET HEALTHY—— WILL SEE HOW THE CAVS HANDLE/ REACT TO SOME ADVERSITY—— COACHES / PLAYERS AND YES EVEN US FANS
I’m more worried about the Wade injury than anything.
Wait what? I was wondering why we didn’t see him much in the second half.
I think we all feel similarly about his game, but if availability is the best ability…he has been available for about two-thirds of the Cavs’ game in the past five years. I feel for him.
Crunch time execution, turnovers, free throws, Sixers shooting out of their mind, and the Cavs giving up a point for every minute Georges Niang was on the floor. That’s the ballgame.
Zone didn’t work against the Sixers but they rolled it out on us and it was fairly disruptive.
Niang and the other perimeter guys really needed to rebound better, the five out wore down Allen, just a bunch of little failures.
The Niang experiment has run its course folks. He ain’t it. Get rid of him and get somebody with a smidge of athleticism and toughness. We should not be this bad without mobley.
It’s exasperated by these missed FTs. You hit your FTs you win the last two games.
If you need to be 100% from th free throw line to win you are counting on miracles. We played bad defense. Niang is a huge reason for that against any team with professional athletes who run a sub 6 40 yard dash
and how do you plan to turn him into someone better?
We don’t, we never do. He’s fine as a ninth or tenth man (Celtics have Queta and Hauser in that role, OKC has Dieng and K Williams there now, Memphis and Houston have young players I like there BUT Niang is better on production and skill than most teams have in that rotation spot)
I don’t have a good feeling about tomorrow night unless they can get some players back.
Tomorrow night is about as sure a schedule loss as anything I’ve seen. I do not want mobes coming back before he is 100%
Missed most of this game…Mobley was traveling with them. What about others?
LeVert was, Okoro wasn’t.
Edwards again…
Fucking shit!!!!
