Playoff Live Thread Game 3: Cavs @ Heat (or, Target Lock Tyler)
2025-04-26Saturday afternoon bad news, Cavs fans: Cleveland will be without Darius Garland due to a sprained toe. After a war of words in the last couple days between he and Herro, Darius was ruled out before game time. The Heat will be without Love and Rozier still and I expect to see a healthy dose of Nikola Jovic. From Miami.
Here’s the key to this game: use Herro’s aggressiveness against him.
Tyler’s gonna be keyed up. Pump fake, coming off the screen and pulling up so he runs into you, decoy plays… They should all be a part of the game plan. Cleveland needs to feed the bigs around the basket cause Miami will want to take away the Cavs’ perimeter game which has killed em this week.
In other news, keep making Herro hit tough shots and limiting everyone else’s damage. Pay attention to Jovic and Make Bam hit threes. And go Cavs.

Cleveland’s strength & conditioning and training, along with the coaching staffs deserves a lot of love.
all of this roster moves so well. they all feel to be so sturdy and stout in their respective & similar ways. Everyone is so spry.
& they each use it all to really execute clean, and simple and effective cuts and routing. Really really spatially aware of themselves. Always connected in their gapping.

And all his shot makes were highlight reels, because he was triple teamed when he drove the lane. No wonder he was racking up assists. Left the Heat’s defense in shambles.

Heat shot 47 percent on 34 attempts from 3 . . . and still lost by 37! One reason among many – Cavs out-rebounded them 46-29. I think that’s going to make some CTB hosts very happy (and rightly so).

Yeah I think Chuck has been pretty consistently bullish on the Cavs all season since their opening streak.

what’s up with late round Brown’s picks, you ask? how about two RB and two QB — including you know who.
I’m happy with how the QB picks played out, in hindsight. I mean they couldn’t have known two days ago that Shadeur would drop THAT far, but in the end, they get him in the 5th round instead of burning number 2 overall or even one of their second rounders on him. That’s a minimal investment, so they should have no hesitation next year trying to use their two 2026 rd 1 picks on another FQB prospect if it’s clear they need to. Cavs with 50 pts in the paint this game and 13 3PM (39 pts).. and it’s the opposite from G2 where we killed them at the 3 with 22 made 3’s (66 pts) and only 28 paint points.
