We’re still in the dead of the NBA offseason, but we are only two weeks away from Cavs’ training camp in Florida!!! The biggest news coming from the past few weeks was the injury to Max Strus. Combined with the rehabilitation of Darius Garland, and it’s already been leaked by Cavs’ beat writers that DeAndre Hunter and Sam Merrill will be first up to fill in those spots of the starting lineup. Yours truly will co-sign that decision given how it provides a little more size and shooting for Tower City to operate. Evan Mobley offseason clips look very promising regarding his shooting. Last but not least, Go Guards? (and Go Reds!)

We’ll see how things go. I usually don’t buy off-season fluff pieces. Though Jerome was legit last year. With Strus & DG out to start, he probably will get more run. Once everyone is healthy? IDK.
Down 2 starters. I’d imagine some combo of Ball (DG) and Merrill/Hunter/Wade (Strus) will be the guys who start games. Those 4 + Spida, Mobes, & JA are your top 7. LNJ makes 8.
Two rotation spots open. With the backcourt thin and Ball likely not playing B2Bs, Tyson, and maybe even CPJ/Proctor move up a rung. Bryant will still play some, too.

Outside of my obvious OH rooting interests, I’d be happy with any winner save for the Dodgers, Yankees, or Red Sox.
I grew up a Phillies fan (Mike Schmidt). The Mariners, Padres, & Brewers have never won a WS. The Cubs, Tigers, & Blue Jays are not in historic droughts, but do not contend nearly as often, and I like all three cities.
Plus, the Sox and Yanks play each other. Someone has to lose.

Yeah, IDK what I was thinking there. Must have had Sal Stewart on the brain after a Reds game.
Stewart is a bruiser who can shoot (a little, not sure I buy those small sample size %s holding up). Not a rim protector or vertical threat at all.
I’d have prefered an anchor/lob threat Allen backup type, but I am not gonna act like we did not need a 3rd C of any type and, potentially, some frontcourt shooting.
Solid pickup considering what was left around. Finals experience. No “deer in headlights” worries.

He always had great great measurements and the 2020 draft was so weird. He’s big and has some interesting feel and this type of player is the kind of guy you take reclamation swings on.
He also played in pre-JB Detroit which was a major shithole but he was given tons of opportunities and was atrocious. I trust Koby generally to find talent but this is more likely to be an Emoni Bates type swing and miss.

Green is older and stinks and plays Tyson’s position (badly). Love is three years removed from giving you a decent playoff shift every other game and is a small slow big in any event.
Bryant is for the people who want an “enforcer” type. He did shoot an insane 50% from 3 in the playoffs last year. But really he’s just a big body innings eater who is only 28 and can shoot a little while defending backups. He’s shown just as much as an NBA player as Yabusele if we are keeping it honest.
and he is a center. if you took Love, then he and LNJ would both be old undersized 4s that would have a lot of trouble playing backup 5.
