Live Thread: Cavs @ Bulls, Preseason Take Two

The Cavs traverse to the shores of Lake Michigan to take on the Chicago Bulls for game two of their home and away series against their Central Division rival. The Cavs lost the first one in a “nail-biter” 118-117 after Thomas Bryant couldn’t convert a layup on a perfectly drawn out of bounds play to win the game. Thankfully preseason game results don’t matter at all, but a couple of themes emerge for the good guys coming out of the game.
First, the starting lineup looked incredible in the first half… Mobley looks bigger, stronger. Jaylon Tyson looked fit as a fiddle. DeAndre Hunter looked amazing. The second unit without Darius Garland looks like it’s going to struggle to score points, but Coach Kenny Atkinson was clearly making hockey substitutions so presumably one of Evan Mobley or Donovan Mitchell will be on the floor at all times for someone to attack the rim and take shots. The silver lining in the second half was rookie Tyrese Proctor, let’s see him with the second unit Coach! Go Cavs.
Tip off is scheduled for 8:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Fanduel Sports Network Ohio.

anyone see the “hit by pitch” in the Seattle/Detroit game? it absolutely looked like the replay crew got it wrong on this bizzare play. it looked like a foul ball, but even if he was hit, the ball was right in the middle of the strike zone, and he bunted at it. plus, the batter appeared to out of the batters box, and over the plate. coach NOMAD: what rules apply?
I saw that, AND his finger was in front of the bat.
Awful call. At least it did not determine the outcome.

The first game, we were overwhelmingly physical and produced points and you start to think DG is expendable. But then, a 15 point quarter, big yikes

They didn’t work. Absolute incoherence and disorganization: probably gets better in the regular season but it was poor.
