Playoff Live Thread: Cavs vs Raptors (Game 7)
2026-05-03It all comes down to this, Cavs fans. In a series where the Cavs have choked away two games, home court advantage for Game 7 looms large for Cleveland, but not as large as the need to stop making stupid turnovers, play their best lineups, and compete for 48 minutes.
Can they do it? Normally, you’d think they’d caught a break with Brandon Ingram being ruled out of Game 7, and Immanuel Quickley having been out all post-season. Unfortunately, when things seems like they should be easier, that’s when the Cavs tend to lose focus. Will this be the moment they get it together, or will a Cavalanche of roster changes be in the offing? We shall see.

Strus, Merrill, and Tyson were all better than Wade last night. But Dean still seems the best option to put on Cunningham. Though Cade is wuicker than Barnes.
Kenny looks like he has settled into a 4 + 4 +1 roration. Big 4 + Wade/Strus/Merrill/Tyson + Schröder as the 9th. Ellis as the unused 10th. TB, Tomlin, & CPJ the emergency guys.

an underrated aspect of Tuesday is Kenny utilizing our depth while JB played starters a lot. JB, being JB, played six guys 29+ minutes (starting 5 plus Jenkins).
Kenny played nine and Keon and TB, two potentially useful guys, had a DNP.
Not an ideal minutes distribution if you want your defenders closing out to Max and Sam consistently.
Yeah on the flip side, Kenny has more defenders (Strus, Wade, Tyson, Merrill) to throw at Cade. I thought Strus’ energy on Barnes was great last night (minus the headbutt).

One of the few PO series during which I assume both teams will be catching the bus. Less lost time at airports, more rest. Two “local” teams, like an NBA derby.
NY/Philly is probably train instead of bus.
Wilt lived in NYC when he played for Philly, and took the train for every game, and skipped practices.

What a game by Jarrett Allen! Our boy just brought everything to that one. Great all-around win. Might not have much in the tank for game one, excited to have another series to follow.

Seems like another over-interpretation of the flagrant foul rules.
Again, I do not understand the rules. Allen gets tackled (no play on the ball) = no flagrant. Mitchell hits a player on the neck = flagrant. Allen hits THE BALL in the air with two hands = flagrant.

I thought the game was well officiated except for the flagrant foul calls. All 3 were bad.
Maybe it’s PTSD from 2015–2018, but I cannot stand when officials allow screens to be set with arms fully extended, jerseys clutched, and feet moving. That’s an offensive foul every time. I saw a lot of that from the Raptors tonight, and I don’t think it makes for good basketball.
I especially appreciated the no call on the little dust up with DS and Barrett

I think the Cavs would have been better off with Ingram and Quickley in the series. Those dudes are not as complimentary as the players they utilized. They get buckets….but they also have defensive baggage.
