I’m On TrueHoop While You Process
2009-12-30Hey folks, I’ll have the recap up after I eat some dinner and slow my heart rate down a little bit (what a crazy game), but while you wait I’m over on TrueHoop with a post I got to co-write with Kevin Arnovitz, which was awesome. Go check it out, and check back here in a little bit for a recap.
True that, Dr. Z. Not to mention, other teams without a superstar who treats every possession like it’s final seconds of some game 7 or another like to run plays that unfold with, say, 7-10 seconds left in the shotclock. Which is what the Hawks did. Smith just Hickson’ed the ball away.
Also, does LBJ not realize that every time he backs all the way out to halfcourt, it allows the defense to assume their positions and wait for his drive? I mean, of course he can still score, but it’s the hard way, every time.
While the Hawks definitely got screwed by the errant shot clock tonight, it did not look they they were rushing the shot. Bibby found Smith on a designed pick and roll, and it didn’t seem like either of them were pressing to get the shot off or were even aware of the mistake.
