2010-01-07-In case you missed it this morning or last night, here’s Windhorst on the Dime on the end of the Cavs/Wizards rivalry.
-Mo vs. Boobie, happening right now. If the Longhorns win, you think Boobie can get back into the rotation? (Also, Shaq is pro-Texas for this one.)
-Arenas fallout: Here’s Steinberg with a timeline of Gilbert’s actions, and Michael Lee with a piece on Crittenton’s involvement, which appears to be worse than Arenas’ actions. A must-read.
-From all of this, I did learn that shooting guru Dave Hopla has a blog. He did one of his lectures at my high school my freshman year, and it’s one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. The man simply does not miss.
-Hollinger went over the Cavs’ desire for Antawn Jamison in his chat today, which is becoming the worst-kept secret in Cavsland. Silly as it seems, asking the Wiz to do the Cavs a favor like taking Z’s contract and buying him out seems like a long shot, doesn’t it? Would not be a popular move for that franchise, to say the least.
it should happen but it won’t – if it did we’d have our version of the 04 Sheed but its Cleveland so expect to see him in Boston or Orlando and rafer the other
I want Jamison or I’ll cancel my League Pass and lock myself in a windowless room for 100 days. You heard it here.
I don’t think the Jamison trade is going to happen. It would be too perfect, and we all know hardly anything goes right for a Cleveland team. :)
Other PF options are David West and Troy Murphy. However, when your team is in a certain state you can’t still be thinking about “sticking” it to another team. John is right, it wouldn’t be a popular move for them to gift-wrap Jamison to the Cavs, but rebuilding a team is never a popular move..and it is something they must start doing. I thought there was about a 10% chance coming into the season…when they started so poorly I thought it was closer a to a 25%…now with Gilbert gone I think its more like a 45% chance that the… Read more »
Do shaq and mo know how to use the wording going to be instead of “gone be” in their twitter posts? Or are they just saving characters.
If the Wiz really wanted to shed some money AND stick it to the Cavs, they will make the Z-Jamison deal, but then NOT buyout Z. And in this scenario in my head, I picture the Wiz’s GM as Dark Helmet – “FOOLED YOU! I can’t believe you fell for that, man! That’s the oldest trick in the book!”
Colin: did this guy also vote for AI and TMac to start in the All-Star game? haha As much as I like Jamison … I just don’t see the Wiz giftwrapping him for us. I wonder what other PF options are out there? Also, it seems like any trade would have to involve Z (unless some wonkiness can be worked out with Wallyz contract) … would the Cavs really trade Z, even in a buyout situation? I’m not asking whether it makes sense to do so, just whether the Danny Ferry would actually do it with the history there and… Read more »
Not sure, but someone might find this funny. I recently got into an argument with someone over a trade idea they proposed for the Cavs: Michael Redd Ersan Ilyasova for Anderson Varejao Zydrunas Ilgauskas I basically said it was stupid because Andy has been our best big (not to mention Redd is washed up). And countered by calling me an idiot because JJ and Shaq are clearly better than him. I was stunned. We debated this for at least an hour, before I finally just got tired of it and ended the conversation. Now, which one of us is the… Read more »
