Detroit drubbed the good guys 103-80 the 28th of December, and tonight Cleveland seeks revenge. Lots has happened for both teams since. Brandon Jennings was lost for the season to an achilles injury last week, and D.J. Augustin started in his stead on Sunday. He scored 35 in 37 minutes against the Raptors, with 77% True Shooting. So shutting him down is a priority. Detroit features balanced scoring (five guys average double features), a dynamic duo of Monroe and Drummond in the middle, glue guy Kyle Singler, and solid coaching from Stan Van Gundy. Hopefully, the Cavs are revenge minded and can shut down the Pistons in the Motor City. Go Cavs!

Cavs making the mistake of playing down to the Pistons style of game. Best way to beat these guys is to get out and run and share the ball.

This is a pretty sloppy game. Cavs transition or up-tempo defense is really pathetic. Fortunately, the Pistons can’t stop LeBron in the open court either. Would be nice if any of these guys could hit the wide-open 3s they are getting. 1-9 from 3 so far

It’s getting to the point where we can say Irving has made a lasting change in his game.
One of the more surprising things for me is seeing Kyrie play good defense. Kind of makes you wish he put in the effort in previous years, but hey, I’ll take it.

Early on, it looks like LBJ and Irving have favorable match ups with Singler and Augustin on them.

I still remember DJ Augustine single-handedly costing the Pacers the conference finals 2 years ago. They’d put him in and he couldn’t get the ball across half-court against the Heat. Heatles went on a 19-2 run or something as soon as DJ checked in. It was brutal. I assumed he’d never play NBA ball again.
Really had a nice season last year with Chicago.
I remember that. I also remember wondering how George Hill could play another minute because he turned the ball over every other time he touched it.
If Indiana had a a PG that wasn’t George Hill or DJ Augustin in that series, they take out the Heat for sure. It was agonizing watching those guys try to dribble the basketball.
