Live Thread: Cavs @ Grizzlies

After a tough, close loss to the Bulls in the season opener, the Cavs get a quick turnaround trip to The Grindhouse in Memphis tonight. While a back-to-back against another gritty playoff team might not be exactly what the doctor ordered, it does at least provide an opportunity for the Cavs to try and square up their record and put the loss in Chicago quickly in the rearview. Questions about minute restrictions will likely be answered early on in this one, as we wait to see how much LeBron, KLove and Moz wind up playing in the second game in two nights.
For now, the probable starting lineup is listed as: Mo Williams, J.R. Smith, LeBron James, Kevin Love and Timofey Mozgov for the Cavs; which the Grizzlies will counter with Mike Conley Jr., Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.
Memphis, in their opening night, should prove a difficult challenge for the still rounding into shape Cavs squad. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them still looking for their first win in the home opener against the Heat on Friday night. Prediction: Grizz 101, Cavs 96.
LeBron might need to go. To South Beach for November.

Klove and LBJ should play the first 8 minutes of the third and then sit for the night.
If Moz had made that 3 at the buzzer, they may really have decided to sit the starters for the second half.

So LBJ is starting the season 20% on free throws. This is probably the single biggest pet peeve I have for the greatest player in the world. He’s been the same free throw shooter for 12 years. He should be an 85% shooter there. He’d have probably 2000 extra points in his career by now.
