It’s only Tuesday, but it’s already been kind of a heavy week for the King. Off the court, there’s been a lot of hullabaloo about Phil Jackson taking shots at LeBron and his “posse.”  One of LBJ’s Horsemen, Maverick Carter, had already provided a rebuke to PJ, and LeBron himself proclaimed his loss of respect for the Knicks’ President.
On the court, the King had his two week reign as Eastern Conference Player of the Week brought to an end by one of tonight’s opponents, DeMar DeRozan. All DeMar had to do to overcome LeBron was average 34.7 points a game, while shooting 54 percent from the floor during the Raptors’ perfect 3-0 week. He also currently leads the league in scoring, at around a similar 34 points per game, and is the first player since Michael Jordan in 1986-87 to score at least 30 points in eight of his first nine games to start a season. All this despite taking just 14 threes and making just three of them (21%), meaning all of his damage is being done from mid-range on in.
This is already the second time the Cavs are meeting up with arguably their closest thing to a rival in the East thus far this season. Cleveland put down the revolt in the Air Canada Centre, 94-91, in the second game, but Toronto is unquestionably gunning for the throne. Both teams sit atop the standings once again at 8-1 and 7-2 respectively as they clash this time at the Q.
The Cavs are on a hot streak of their own as a team, breaking the league record set by the Houston Rockets two years ago as the first team to make at least 10 triples in every game to start the season. And, while the wine and gold are on pace to hit more threes than any team in history, Ty Lue still thinks they can shoot even better from beyond the arc than they already have.
The Cavs will be without JR Smith for a second consecutive game (sore right ankle), but this time it will be Richard Jefferson replacing him in the starting lineup over a struggling Mike Dunleavy. The Raptors will be without DeMarre Carroll.
Prediction: As Jack Nicholson says in the above clip “The only one who can do what I do… is me.” And the only one who can do what LeBron does… is him. Cavs protect the throne, 105-98.
Catch all the action on NBATV at 7pm EST… And chime in here…
GO CAVS!
Would be sweet for LeBron to get the triple double with the Big O in the house. Along with a win of course
Both teams shooting over 50% from the field… an identical 5-13 from downtown…
Cavs score 61 in the first half… with no JR and Kyrie with just 8 points…
https://twitter.com/CavsNationNet/status/798693868959100928
And with James resting.
Good point!
It’s some weird mental thing that DeRozan can’t shoot threes… the arc line wigs him out…
Shump is finally playing at the right pace for him. Let’s hope he keeps playing this way…. Under control.
Hold the fort for me as well folks. Heading home in a minute.
Drive easy JoeyB!
Kyrie getting benched again.
He has a hard time with Lowry and Joseph…
That did not seem like contact warranting a foul call…
There you go Kev!
That was a really nice pass by Shump to TT…
Cols out. Have fun guys and girls.
Cols is always out when the Cavs are losing… ;)
Sucks to be losing
Meh. They win when they try. They’re having fun. Stay healthy and win enough for playoffs. Then it’ll start.
Don’t panic…
Giving up a lot of fastbreak points… 14 so far…
True or False, Jefferson probably should have retired.
False… that was a bad play, but he’s still got game left…
Absolutely false. Do not unlearn the lessons of the Finals.
Just taking the temperature. It has seemed to me, so far in this young season, that he lacks a little something. Hunger? Did he not fully get his mind around not retiring? Champ malaise? Finally old?
Maybe a little… but it’s early yet… Takes the older guys a little while to get going
DeRozan just got Shumped…
NOthing like coming out of a timeout and turning it over for a three.
Kevin! Using his muscles!

I’m I the only who thinks the Cavs should be leading by double digits?
Cavs don’t play tough defense during boring regular season games.
This is true.
You are right.
Anyone feel like guarding Terrance Ross?
Last three Raps treys pretty wide open…
Another one for Dunleavy…
Told you
I’m not sure who you’re telling… but it’s not me…
Interesting: Starters 0 for 5 from 3. Bench 4 of 5.
Channing Frye is going to have the year of his career.
Yep, Fantastic trade by Griffin
LBJ going for triple double tonight with O in the house.
So are Nate and Mallory still part of CtB?
Cavs doubling up the Raps on the glass… 20-10
I would like some Killer Shrimp
SHUMP-tastic!
Told you
Dude… I’ve never wavered from my Shump love…
https://vine.co/v/5TKzhDu7J5T
Channing Frye is darn near close to automatic…

I hope trade McRae and Mo’s contract for a pile of basketballs soon.
The Big O was indeed right about harassing Curry all over the court. We wore the mouthpiece down
Fraud
I love Lebron. Really do. Amazing generational talent. But why, o why, in this his 14th season, is he shooting 2 of 5 from the line?
Weak
okay, ESPN stats were lying to me.
Still feels wierd watching non-playoff basketball.
LeBron is still awesome
This can’t be good… for San Antonio…

That failure still has a job?!!!!
Its Trump’s world now. Failure is the new employment.
LBJ! CROWN THIS FOOLS!
https://vine.co/v/5Tmlv3j25Bh
The Big O at the game with Fred and AC right now… very cool!
Sometimes I think Lue just wants to see how many scrubs he can put on the Court with LBJ and still win. He must’ve watched tape of 2010.
Haha!
Orange Mamba and Channing don’t quite have their chemistry worked out just yet…
Noguera has some springy legs…
Raps gotta be frustrated that they started so hot and the quarter ends with them down five.
DeRozan not nearly as good on the drive… or when Shump is harrassing him…
Cavs locking the Raps down now… especially with Shump in the game…
No surprise that CtB’s offseason whipping boy Shumpert is making the Cavs great again.
/sobs
Anyone watching WEstworld?
Loving it!
I can’t decide if I like it, but it’s kept my interest. Could use more nudity though.
I think the only way for them to have more nudity would be if nobody wore clothes ever…
I love Jonah Nolan’s storytelling…
Hey Dunleavy is still good. Hmm, who could have been saying this?
He’s gotta hit a few more of those before you can say he’s still good… previously 7-26…
Dunleavy needed that like Cols needs detox.
This is the worst time to detox. Gotta deal with relatives over thanksgiving
Understood.
FINALLY! Dun-LEAVE-ME-Open!!

Oh yay. Too bad we lost again. It took 20 years to get back after 1997. I’ll be 58 next World Series. Excited.
/cries himself to sleep
Listen up Cols:
Year 1, Cavs lose
Year 2, Cavs win, Tribe loses
Year 3, Cavs win, Tribe wins, Browns lose
Year 4, Cleveland sweeps. :)
Now smoke up, tip back a brew, and we’ll get through it.
Nice Kev!

Keep playing Lonzo!

That man has stolen a lot of dollars from the NBA. You go, Alonzo!
Ha!

Wow… DeMar has actually missed two midrangers in a row…
Wow. 10-4 rebound advantage early going. Cavs brickapalooza doesn’t matter with the o boards.
I thought that Kipnis hit was gone.
Man, Cols. This election has you even more screwed up than me. We’ll get through it, man, we’ll get through it.
I know. But right now it’s drink and drink and try to forget.
And just like that… Cavs respond!
https://vine.co/v/5TmEhXHlvgu
MFQ is Mr. Second Chance tonight
Again Kyrie gets his own miss!
https://vine.co/v/5TmE7nvQP0E
LeBron fouled twice and still converts the drive
https://vine.co/v/5Tm0IuY0J1J
Ugh. After tying it in the 8th and Chapman on fumes, we should’ve won it in the 9th.
…..Non sequitor much?
No, the other Game 7…
Kyrie gets his own miss… shades of Game 7
Kev got the butterfingers early…
I love DDR
Great alley oop from Kyrie to TT!
https://twitter.com/cavs/status/798682495856193536
Don’t think RJ can handle DeRozan, but then again nobody has this year.
DeRozan is awesome. He should go for 80 today.
LBJ miss two FTs to start? Come on, man.
Yeah, it’s not like he hit the most important free throw in Cavs history.
1 of 2, actually.
DeMar just doesn’t seem to miss from mid-range…
I predict I will be drunk.
Don’t fail me more America.
Nice one.
My prediction: Cavs lose, Raps care more and missing J.R. will hurt too much against a better team.
