Live Thread: Cavs @ Hornets (#BuzzOff)
2017-03-24The Cavs are on the road to finish a long, strange trip tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. Given how they’ve played defense lately (or not as the case may be), they might want to bring some of this with them to the contest. Charlotte is yet another team fighting for it’s playoff life (they’re currently 2.5 games behind the Heat for the 8th spot in the EC), and they’ve won their last three in a row to climb back into contention. The Cavs are coming off a disappointing loss in Denver, and have just a 5-7 record in the month of March. Some good news… Kevin Love has been cleared to play in back to backs now, and the Cavs have also recalled Larry Sanders from Canton for some potential additional help in the paint.
Cavs probable starting lineup: LeBron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith, Kyrie Irving.
Hornets probable starting lineup: Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, Nicholas Batum.
Prediction: The Cavs spray the ball around from deep, and get back to their winning ways as they swat some flying pests, 113-109.
Action starts at 7pm EST, and can be seen on Fox Sports Ohio.
Get JR outta there… he’s not engaged at all…
Bad call Kenny Mauer…

Simmons podcast he wants to get rid of NBA conferences and just rank the teams for the playoffs.
So dumb. Gets rid of all rivalries. Such a dumb idea it makes me angry. Must drink more gin
I would agree with getting rid of divisions because those don’t matter really, but getting rid of conferences is dumb…
Yes. A dumb.
The way you feel listening to one Simmons podcast? That’s how I feel about each of your comments.
Zeller is owning the Cavs on the glass tonight…
JR isn’t moving on offense either…
Kevin is really active down low!
College basketball sucks. But I’m looking forward to ucla and Kentucky.
Also. Gin and ginger beer and lime is not bad if you run out of vodka and bourbon
Cavs are sweet. Any one drinking Pinner?
Cavs are playing he long game qithSander. Sanders. It’s smart. Dude
How is it smart not to leave him in Canton for more than one game? Especially if they’re playing the long game?
Get acclimated with nab
Just seems dumb to me…
I don’t understand this… why call the guy up and have him inactive? Why not let him play another game with the Charge?

To be with the guys.
That makes zero sense…
No Channing Frye in first half. Doghouse, anyone?
Bad matchup for the Charlotte bigs…
Bad matchup
Yeah a little worried by JR. Shump much better that half and Kyrie Much better too
LBJ only played 16:30 that half…
R
Drinking?
Good half. Nice effort. LeBron totally out of the play on that last inbound bucket for Charlotte though.

Cavs still have a 59%-39% shooting advantage, but only a six point lead… too many offensive rebounds allowed
Well at least they are trying in one aspect of defense. Didn’t think they’d be able to fix everyting in one game.
Four point swing at the end of that quarter… not great
Bad sequence…
Unfortunate series of bounces for us.
What
JR needs some focus…
Nice move by KLove!
Another steal by Kyrie… he’s showing some better effort on D tonight…
Watching JR closely on D… he really does get lost almost every possession…
Guard rebounding leaving something to be desired…
That could be the understatement of the year if you’re talking bout the whole season.
Nobody hitting the glass…
Kidd Gilchrist absolutely walked on that last possession…

Someone call out a screen for chrissake
Yep. Systemic communication issues on d. Doesn’t seem like we have any talkers out there.
That was a moving football block from Zeller on JR…
Kyrie actually pulled off a pretty good switch onto Batum that time…
Kyrie chucked a roller!
I’m liking this KLove mid-range wrinkle…
Not watching. Just followingthe box score. I like this 70:38 fg% differential so far…haha. But, I would really trade hot shooting for hot defense…
Defense is much improved from last game’s debacle… still room for improvement though…
Boxing out could be better, but at least they are contesting/trying to stick with their guys. It also helps that it’s Charlotte.
Love can hit that all day long…
What a pass by Bron! Great cut by Korver!
Much better D this quarter…
Noticed where the Cavs missed Delly the most: defensive rebounding. He was such a good boxout guy. Especially good on long rebounds.
26-9 run for Cavs…
That webber kid is not good. Wonder where kemba is, seems like a long rest.
LeBench lineup looking good, especially RJ.
Pretty two man game between LBJ and DWill!

RJ gets up!

13 early ones for Kyrie…
Kyrie trying for the foul… makes the shot anyway…
Wow! Cavs might actually hold an opponent under 30 in the first quarter…
Or maybe not…
We couldn’t stop ncaa championship team from scoring.
Kyrie to the hoop!
For where art thou Flama Blanca?
Can’t let Bellinelli get open shots like that… better D by Shump that time…
Shump good in short corner…
Shump and Kyrie threes close the gap quickly…
https://twitter.com/cavs/status/845417395426537473
Cavs back to walking the ball up the floor… this team has to run more…
The hornets should put ky in the p and r every time.
Ball not moving on Cavs side… moving all over on the Hornets side…
JR is also getting lost on every switch…
Terrible work on the glass…
This is ridiculous… four chances for the Hornets and then an and-one…
73 on a Friday in Cleveland. I guess no one is around tonight
TT not boxing out Zeller there…
Bad rotations on Kemba though…
Cavs seem to at least be up on their guys in the man to man D so far…
Bron… throwing hammers already…
LeBron only needs a 94 more points to pass Shaq…
Nice ball movement!
Kyrie steal… JR SWISH!
Good gravy. LeBron looks unenthusiastic in his interviews
Put me in the “Larry Sanders will never do anything for the Cavs” camp.
