Live Thread: Cavs @ Kings
2017-12-27It’s a late one for us East Coasters (or at least Eastern Time Zoners) as the Cavs take on the struggling Kings who are coming off a drubbing Tuesday from the Clippers. This matchup has trap game potential with the Cavs scheduled to a take a Napa Valley “mini-vacation” after tonight. Cleveland sports the same lineup they faced Golden State with: no Shumpert, Rose, or Thomas. is missing the little used Harry Giles and De’Aaron Fox, who suffered a partially torn right quad against Minnesota on the 14th.
The question for the Cavs will be, how much do they want to get one back in the win column versus how much do they want to start their vacation early? Hopefully, they’re all about professionalism as they take on the 11-22 Kings. Sacramento will look to run, as they don’t have anyone who averages over 27 minutes a night. Last game Buddy Hield and Frank Mason Jr. burned the Cleveland, so I’m sure we’ll see a good effort from them tonight.
Prediction: Cavs knock out the Kings early in the third and we see an extended run for the bench. Tristan Thompson looks to show out on whatever lineup he’s on, to quiet the rumblings about his ineffectiveness… He throws up a double/double and the Cavs win 118-98.
Argh. Gotta make that, kev.
Kings on the 2nd night of B2B, maybe they will slow down in the second half.
Kevin Love with great hustle after JR gives up on a layup instead of challenging a 40 year old
Yeah, not sure why JR pulled away from Vince
Love is a beast this year.
Sloppy pass from Love. We make a TON of Lazy post entry passes. Soft lobs into traffic.
Kings are the lowest scoring team in the league. 66% tonight.
Great passinf for that Green slam.
60 first half points given up with 3:15 to go
Seriously Vince?
If Cavs are gonna play this bad, may as well bring TT back in, so I have someone to blame.
How is Love not touching the ball?
Yep. Starting to get worried. Put Love in.
I would trade JR for Hield right now, even if they were the same age and had the same contract…

Guys have their spots…that’s definitely not Crowder’s spot…
Oof. Not so good stretch here.
And 8-0 run… This game is gonna be a struggle
EG really needs to buy a car from Ganley Auto Group so they can stop running the ads…
I got my car from Ganley. It doesn’t seem to work.
They really, REALLY want to sell EG a car…
Lue should only play TT over Frye on the second night of back2backs.
This isn’t one.
Correct.
Not a good start to the quarter. Got it going now.
Don’t mind TT playing some if Frye gets to start Q2 & Q4.
Swoop with a thump!

Nice run Dinobots!
One of the problems with TT is he pushes green outside when green is best inside
Yes, Green is a better PF, he’s less likely to make careless decisions. His role is simplified that way.
Hopefully that oop gets Green going.
Frye making Lue look dumb.
Been doing that all season…
Wade hijacking the offense with that pull up.
3 assists in Q1 for us.
Bad basketball for the Cavs right now…
Frye in. No TT. Crowder + Dinobots.
Y’all we need to dump TT and bring back Frye. He’s the most overpaid, overrated player in the league.
3 over TT at the buzzer.
Frye sighting!
Dinobots assemble!… And then get dunked on by stein.
TT with an awful quarter in offense and defense.
Comical Bron TO. Splashed a J next time. 3 puts Kings ahead.
If TT takes Frye’s minutes, I may start to hatch a kidnap Ty Lue plot so Drew can coach the team.
Cavs running way too many plays for people not named Kevin Love. LeBron just super careless with the ball.
Tristan comes in and Cavs lose the quarter.
Bron’s awful turnovers continue
Lebron’s handle has been trash lately. Annoying.
It is an age thing. Loss of dexterity.
That is a foul on Wade.
Quite. And cauley stein did him a solid by not undercutting him and them got screwed by the refs.
Plus the Cavs pick: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y92eebky
Yeah, I’d do that…
Problem is cauley stein is a better version of tt
I wouldn’t say that yet…could be true in the future, but WCS has been mostly ass so far in his carer…
Randolph blows by TT. Love working on O.
I will say this: Randolph + Cauley-Stein is tough for small ball.
TT can’t guard Randolph.
Tbh. Few can (still).
JR at 63% on FTs. Missed both.
Yeah I’m ready to cut ties with TT. He’s getting all of Frye’s minutes. I may be willing to send him to Brooklyn for Mozgov. Not that I want Mozgov, but I’d like to think Frye would get minutes over him.
TT in. Trouble ahead.
Ben’s article today so prescient. Cavs only throw TT lobs. JR should’ve bounc passed there.
TT destroying the Cavs offense.
Raps going down. 3 teams on 10 losses.
I know I’m probably in the minority, but I like “The Land” Nike uniforms.
Yes. Yes you are.
Cavs actually getting some calls for once.
Bulls neat the Knicks. Up to 12 wins.
Good start for the Cavs. Good block by Crowder.
If I were opposing Lebron, I’d just let him shoot that…no way I foul him…
Crowder seems very active tonight.
wow rondo with 25 assists—pels could be a tough playoff team—with “playoff rondo ” performing
Swish! Needed that
Everyone have a Merry Christmas?
I was working, but sure…and yourself?
I did! You?
No. I had pneumonia and we had to put our dog down.
Damn. Sorry Arch. That’s some BS.
Thanks. RIP Oscar!
Love won a jump!
That pass was hot!
i thought Russell (at least the nets brass was thinking ) out for the season —-wishful thinking i guess —–think the pistons can win at least 1 if not both of those games
It’s not like russell was playing winning ball.
ok blatt had bowling outing—ty has wine trip–I will support ty on this one !!!
Reggie Jackson being out 6-8 weeks sucks. Nets have the Pistons twice in Jan. Hopefully Ish Smith can step up & hopefully Bradley will be back soon.
Hawks won by 14. Nets down 27.
Nets are in a tough spot. Okafor cannot play yet & Booker is gone. Russell will likely return in a couple weeks. I was hoping some other teams would be in front of them, particularly the Hornets & Magic. Orlando was down 4 starters before Fournier came back last week.
I think the Bulls, Lakers, & Mavs will pass them when they get healthy. Memphis too if Conley is a full go soon.
Little more worried about Phoenix, Kings, & Hawks. Still, Hawks are within 3 wins and everyone else could be within 1 if the Grizz win tonight.
need to keep Randolph in check—he always seems to have good games against the cavs
so far a good night for the nets pick—–nets confidence seems to be shaken / they keep losing it will get worse —playing hard every night for a losing team becomes more difficult as the season gets longer
And when your legs start to go.
Hawks up 11 under 4 minutes to go on the Wiz. Bulls down 2 after 3 in Chi-town to the Knicks. Nets down 16 from 30 after 3.
We all know how this game is probably gonna go. Low effort from Cavs, tight game, probably a close win.
Bees came up short against the Cs. Hawks tied with Wiz late 3rd. Bulls down a triple at half to the Knicks. Nets down 23 at HT in NO.
Raps down 1 at half in OKC. OKC win + Cavs win = 3 way tie atop the east in the loss column.
Mavs beat the Pacers in Indy. Up to 11 wins.
