Live Thread: Cavs vs. Nets (#PickItUp)

Okay, this is going to be short and sweet because it’s going on midnight here in London and I’ve got an early plane to catch tomorrow…
Tonight, the Cavaliers play one of their more important games left on the schedule… not just because they need every win they can get for playoff positioning as the team’s new pieces continue the gelling process… but also because they’re facing the Brooklyn Nets. In case you’ve forgotten, the Cavs now own the much ballyhooed Nets pick (Nate’s even got a name for it, but I can’t remember with the late hour), so every loss dealt to Brooklyn increases the chances of getting more ping pong balls in this summer’s draft.
This game should be essentially found money for Cleveland, as they should be able to pick their collective game up (especially from three point land) and handle the surprisingly feisty Nets at the Q. Of course, nothing ever seems to go like we think it will in this Season of Why? So, expect a tough battle… even though Brooklyn is on the second night of a midwest back-to-back (they beat the Bulls last night to get to 20 wins on the season). One player update of note… Jeff Green will apparently sit out with lower back soreness… so no Uncle Jeff at the 5 tonight.
Prediction: The Cavs don’t allow the Nets to hit 21, as they pick up the victory… but maybe only win by a penny… 119-118.

To be fair, there were a lot of stupid reach in fouls by the Cavs.
Hill was fine. Had more than three points. Had some. Decent steals.
JR and TT should be replaced in the starting lineup. Nets 13-4 basically due to their poor play, and overall defensive laziness

Our defense has been terrible since exactly the time Lue stopped being in charge of it and Longabardi started being in charge of it. It’s dumbfounding that the dude has a job. Every single place he’s gone the defense has gotten worse. Every single one.
Longabardi should have been fired and replaced months ago…I’m still baffled at how he’s kept his job this long…
JR and Tristan were abysmal. Hood should starting for JR.

The best coaches in the NBA and college lose their minds on the refs at least once a game…the refs are actually petrified of popovich which is one of the reasons they only got 12 fouls called against them in Cleveland…

Lue is just terrible at letting the refs know they are making horrible calls…I don’t think I’ve ever seen him react with any emotion towards the refs in response to bad calls…he just stands there with his mouth open with a dumb look on his face…
