Live Thread: Pelicans @ Cavs
2018-03-30After a 2-1 road trip that saw the Cavaliers’ injury problems continue, the Wine & Gold return home to Quicken Loans Arena tonight to take on the New Orleans Pelicans in a matchup that features two of the biggest stars in the NBA. While James Harden will almost definitely win the NBA MVP Award this season, the Pelican’s Anthony Davis and the Cavaliers’ own LeBron James are like to finish second and third in some order on most of the voter’s ballots.
Both James and Davis have dealt with multiple injuries to their teams while keeping their teams in the playoff pictures with their respective spectacular play. The Cavaliers have dealt with multiple injuries to Kevin Love and have yet to have their entire roster healthy for a game this season. Kyle Korver is out tonight due to a lingering foot issue, while Kevin Love and JR Smith are both listed as questionable. Meanwhile, the Pelicans were dealt a crushing blow when All-Star DeMarcus Cousins was lost for the season with a torn Achilles. Jrue Holiday has been excellent this year for the Pelicans, but if Rajon Rondo (currently listed as questionable with a wrist issue) misses tonight’s game, then Holiday and Davis will be relied on as the Pelican’s sole offensive creators.
Be sure to tune in to tonight’s game at 8:00 on both ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio, and be sure to stop by and share your thoughts here at Cavs: The Blog!
Would be nice to see some Cedi and Ante…
I’d LOVE some ante especially in this game. He is a. Sneaky good defender in the pick n roll
That jr tt breakdown was one of, maybe the only actual complete breakdown, but since the Cavs are almost never within three feet of shooters it didn’t matter. Not sure what they can do, other than a scheme change. This wasn’t really all that awful an effort for this team.
Obv with the defensively deficient second team(jr Jordy and tt) well never win a championship
You forgot to add the word “again” to the end…
Cavs won one remember?

The first team was playing great tonight
Hope JR has it tonight…maybe CavsDan brought a Goldie to the arena…
The Fountain!
JR and TT PNR Fail…
Green with some solid D on AD…
We are so awful at contesting perimeter shots. Nothing new for the past 2 years and won’t change in all likelihood.
Nice drive JC!
Green definitely got held there…
Cavs have stopped running and being aggressive…
Need someone to start contributing to the score apart from LBJ, preferably from 3.
Gad, I almost forgot Mirotic was on the Pels…most favored to go scrub fuego…
I think that was supposed to be a lob for Green…
Green and TT together…yay?
Let’s finish the quarter strong fellas!
Yuck Clarkson. Brick 16 foot j over Davis and then gave up in transition

I really hate that shot from Clarkson…
LBJ’s shoes look like timberlands with the tan colors
OK SIMMO LETS GO FOR 35+—–HA-HA

CONGRATS TO ” JUST A KID FROM AKRON “
K love j is off tonight
Love was hesitant from his first shot, always seems to affect his game when he doesn’t knock down some of his first few.
Cobwebs from concussion protocol…
There it is… Standing O!

Morgan Freeman lip synching Missy Elliott makes me sad…
like to see HOOD GO FOR 25+—I KNOW I AM GETTING GREEDY !!
Love when he plays this aggressively. I’m hoping for 30+, breakout game.
Hope somehow the game gets stopped when James breaks the record so the standing O can happen
My guess is Cavs will call TO….
This should be the starting lineup…although if you want Korver in place of Hood, I’m okay with that, too…
Although if Hood can play aggressive like he has thus far… then it’s probably better bringing Kyle off the bench given his age…
Touchdown
THAT LOVE / LEBRON PASS IS A BEAUTIFUL THING !!!
Touchdown Cleveland!

ONE POINT AWAY!
Bron just 3 points away after that And One…
Oh Kevin love. You are the king of the long ball
Love is missing shots… but then again so is AD…
Nance done a great job contesting and staying in front of guys so far
God, I like this lineup…
THIS IS THE GAME I HAVE BEEN WAITING / HOPING FOR FROM HOOD

NO transition d is really awful so far. Reminds me of the Cavs earlier this season. Keep running until they can prove they can get back.
It’s gonna be a sad day when LeBron hangs it up.
Hopefully not for another 4-5 years…
Go Rodney!
Yes! I absolutely love this aggression!
On moves like that, Lebron literally looks like NBA 2K…
Then does the same for LNJ! Man, it’s good to have Love out there…
LOVE the Love quick outlet to Hood in attack mode!
Incredible how the Cavs by some fluke are starting probably their best starting lineup…
Meanwhile… Holiday can’t guard Bron…
Doris is a big fan of KLove… this doesn’t surprise me
Hood on Davis is a mismatch… but handled decently
Ty Lue back in the building… although it’s weird that Adam Schefter is doing the sideline reporting on it… isn’t he an NFL guy?
Yeah on the starting lineup too
Hill, Hood, Bron, LNJ & Love… I like it!
It’s going to be memorable to see LeBron beat MJ’s 10 point streak record. Nice to have it happen at the Q
HELL MIGHT AS WELL START MY FRIDAY NIGHT OFF WITH —-“FREE ANTE “—-GO CAVS !!
Yay Doris! Although EG will miss Hubie, no doubt…
I’ll miss him like another hole in my head…
Oh thank God… Doris instead of Hubie!
Can’t believe there’s just 7 games left…

Rondo back for the Pelicans as well.
Love and JR are a go.
That’s awesome. Maybe Cavs win this one. Unless they have Green defend Davis the entire game…
