Live Thread: Cavs @ Jazz

Tonight, the Cavs travel to the eastern Great Basin to take on one of the giants of the Western Conference, the Utah Jazz. The Jazz come into the game on a three game losing streak and will be looking at the Cavs to try and notch a solid win. Utah will be without the services of nearly all of their frontcourt rotation, including Rudy Gobert. The absences will make for quite the interesting battle on the court, with the Jazz having to play uber-small ball against the Cavs’ Tower City.

For the Cavs, the game plan is simple. On offense, use the size advantage to get easy looks at the rim. On defense, don’t allow dribble penetration that leads to open kickout threes. In the wider context, the Cavs should have revenge on their mind after losing to the Utah by the narrowest of margins, 109-108. This is a fantastic opportunity to build momentum heading into the second half of the year by taking down a surefire playoff team in their own house.
